The Weekend

We had a weekend thread not so long ago. I wonder what you guys are up to in the next few days.

I am expecting the mother in law and associated friends. On the bright side she is bringing some old photo albums from 1930s 40s 50s. I am scanning them and making retro family photo books for Christmas Presents, I really enjoy repackaging family history.

Of course Hallow'een so out with my son in a silly mask.

I'm waiting for a seriously wet day to go out and shoot with the W90. Some real pelting down rain shots....
Best regards, John

Nothing planned here. Probably more DIY I'm afraid. I suggested to his nibs that we go away for a weekend next weekend - but guess which are the only three wet days forecast for the next fortnight .

AndrewA - look forward to some puupy photos. What breed (if any) is he?

Can the W90 shoot video too?

I can think of an excellent test of its waterproofing if so. Borrow a 4x4, strap it to the bumper and drive over Strata Florida when the rivers are in their usual winter condition, that'll test it!

I think it may be time to get the bird feeders out and swap to the living room with the coal fireplace. Also want to finish undercoating a spoiler for the car so I can get it professionally painted (keeps the price down if I do the basic work then have it sprayed with a colour matched top coat).

Decided to leave Perth on Friday morning to do a shoot over here at Kalgoorlie (Gold fields).

Managed to get up at 3AM this morning and drive up through Menzies to Lake Ballard, to photograph the Antony Gormley statues that are there.link

Called in at the Super Pit yesterday and will return this afternoon.link

As Friday was a holiday in WA due to the CHOGM event and to celebrate the Queens birthday (different dates all over Oz), I thought it an ideal chance to cover this area.

Best regards
