I find this castle one of the most boring places to photograph so i thought i would try something different.

I guess its all relevant.

Is it new? If not how much did you pay 2nd hand if you dont mind me asking.

How far away are the birds?

First one is telling me f6.7 @ 160th, 800 iso. In all honesty if the bird is more than 20 feet away i think you are being a little critical of the image.
Had it been f8 @ 250th and 800 iso i would have been very happy but to get that quality with your settings i would have been delighted.
I was tempted to look for a Siggy 100-300 f4 but i might look for one of those lenses instead.
Dull Day?

Here is the 2 variations i done.
Nothing difficult PP wise. Pretty much just click Neutral for one effect and Click Black for the other.
Both Done in Bibble Pro with some sharpening and Noise Ninja also.
You can see in the 2nd a little blockiness in the blues but it was a small picture and it was only to show.

It's not a common problem but it has been reported before so you're not alone.

The rubber covering down there is purely cosmetic (ie it plays no part in the weather sealing etc) and if the camera went back to Pentax it'd just get stuck down with a dab of Copydex. To save the time and hassle (and cost) of sending it back I'd just invest in my own tube of Copydex if I was you - only a pound or two and comes in most useful for any number of other DIY fixes (camera or otherwise).
I will call SRS and make sure they are OK with me doing that.
Seems a lot of hassle to send it back and forth when thats all Pentax would do anyway.

Im not a fan of the first one you posted, im seeing some strange colour bands.
The 2nd one however has potential.
I did 10 seconds of PP on it and it now looks quite stunning although i noticed you have Copyright so i wont post my PP version without your permission first.

Ermm..i did buy it from SRS.
It had a Memory card already in the camera and they said it was just to test the camera before shipment and not because it was a used model, but now i have that rubber coming away im not so sure.

Got my K20D on saturday and was putting it in my bag this morning and noticed the rubber on the back (right hand side next to memory card slot) is coming away.
Is this a common fault?
Its not bad at the moment but i dont think its going to get any better.
Approx half a thumb width (quarter inch), it looks as though it wasnt sealed properly during manufacture.
Also looking at the Place where i bought its website it seems im liable for any Carriage costs if i return it.
Bit unfair i think as i would only send it Special Delivery and that would probably cost me £10-£12.

Popped along to the Forth and Clyde canal for a few shots.
Gave these two the HDR treatment.

Hi Robert
Welcome to the Forum, you are only a 30 minute drive from me, i live in a little town called Shotts just along the M8 from you.

On the query of your pictures not looking like you want them to thats just mostly down to PP, it can be like learning to read again in all honesty.
If theres any pictures you are needing a little advice on PP wise then i will be happy to try and help.
