I kinda liked the picture so decided not to take too much out of it.
Just some sky cropped out for me.

Sorry to say m8 but i think its more user error than broken Lens.
Its woefully underexposed to try and control the sky blowing out but in this type of scene something has to give.
As for it being sharp, of course its not but i doubt anyone has really sharp pictures straight out the camera. (If the picture has had PP done to it then you need to do a little more work on your PP).
I downloaded the Large version and 30 seconds later ended up with this.
Looks ok to me.
Due to the sky being a little blown i would have been tempted to do this in Black and White.

Thanks John.
Those were just test shots.
Normally i would do my portraits indoors with my lights, reflectors, etc.

This one seems to have turned out ok. Just a pity about the pose. We had an artistic disagreement. Kids Hmmpfff.

The only criticism I could offer if I were to nit pick is that the plane of focus seems to be somewhat in front of your subject. That's adjustable on the K20D if it's a real problem rather than 'operator error'

Yes, skin tone is pale but I would expect that if you've had to desaturate the red channel in PP.
Focal Plane is more than likely operator error, i didnt desat the reds in that also he is quite pale, i will post the one with him slightly to the left.

I wish you would stop posting them, you are seriously tempting me to buy one.

Putting it down to some weird natural lighting as i looked at another where he is turned more to the left. (very slightly) and there is no sign of it in that one.

Yeh i cant see the lens being the issue.
Ive done some PP and the Magenta channel for some reason is a mile off.
In order to correct it i need to Desat 100% magenta in Camera Raw then Desat 100% in CS4 then save to jpeg and desat a further 77%. Downside of that is it kills the lips, etc.
Weird as hell, will have to take a few more tomorrow just in case it was some weird lighting that was causing it but as everything else looks pretty much spot on im kinda confused about it.
