These are the lenses I currently have:

15mm DA f4
35mm FA f2
50mm M f1.7
100mm WR f2.8
55-300mm DA f3.5-5.8

kept only as backup/wr
18-55mm WR

These are the ones I sometimes think about:

samyang 8mm - would allow wider shoots than the 15mm
31mm fa f1.8 - it seems like the holy grail, but I can never quite justify it over the FA 35mm I already have and its close in focal length
tamron 17-50mm - would perhaps inject a bit of speed into parts of my lineup
50-135mm DA* - would give me some more WR, speed and make those focal lengths its own apart from perhaps @ 100mm I have already well covered
tamron 70-200mm f2.8 - much cheaper than the 50-135mm

18-135mm wr - would allow me to ditch the 18-55mm and give me a massive WR range, quiet

Where do you think the weak point is in this lineup. I'm mainly interested in landscape, street and astro.

The pentax 60-250mm looks amazing too, but v. expensive.

I'm also wondering if buying any lens now would be daft if they are revamping some of the lenses soon. But then you can always wait...

I'm also planning to pickup a body at some point to get me better high ISO or >800 over the K-7.

I don't need FF.

I think I'm crippled by indecision

I've asked Pentax/Ricoh to clarify.. as its not on the claims form or terms and conditions table.

I think it needs to be on the claims form if they are offering it.

Neither of the PDFs mention it can be applied to the K-5 ii body only

http://www.ricoh-imaging.co.uk/en/cashback.html

Yet both SRS and Amazon suggest the K-5 ii body only would get 85 quid off with cashback...

FA 35mm f2 is a cracking lens IMO if you can find one at a decent price

Just been reading rumors of one more release from Ricoh brfore the end of the year!

Any guesses?

645DII?
Lenses?
Couldn't be the convertor could it? My god that would punch a hole through the space time continuum
It'll be the FF. Then everyone will grumble about something else.

Lots of people grumbling about the tech.

Hey, I'll take that K-5iis and FA 31mm off you if you don't like it. I'm sure thats awful gear.

Surprised you consider the K-5 II and not the K-30 in that list

Would of though it would be between K-30, K-5 mk1, K-5iis and K-3

Yes I'm hoping to get an O-GPS1 at some point and compatable camera body... currently got K-7

I thought I'd give the DA 15mm f4 prime a spin with it (which I alread have)...

Though I'm also wondering about picknig up a wider fisheye if I can afford, the Samyang 8mm or Pentax 10-17mm perhaps

Allegedly the K5 has superior IQ to the K30. That's news to me I have both a Mark1 K5 and a K30 and to me the image quality is identical.

That'll be 14bit RAW vs 12bit RAW in K-30 and slightly different JPG sharpening/algorithms

The RAW bit depth may only be noticeable in certain situations.. such as night/astro.. but it'll allow more tweaking in PP potentially

From what I've seen if the image is exposed well on the k-30 it'll be indistinguishable from the k-5.. I don't own either though (yet)

Whilst I don't have a K3 (Obviously) other camera's using the Sony 24mp sensor certainly don't in my experience have a better performance at high ISO's than the K5, in fact noticeably worse

Therefore, my guess is that the K3 may also not be better at high ISO's than the K5, however, as the larger picture size will mean that for any given size it will be less enlarged (or more compressed) the difference may not be as noticeable in print but at 100% on screen I expect that the difference will be clear
Yeah Stuey that is my dilemma to some extent...

The K3 looks a very worthy top spec APSC model but if the latest AF and burst shooting are irrelevant to your needs then you might be paying for functionality you won't use.
DrOrloff, Yes I'm wondering if the extra money for those features which I may not use much is worth it...

For instance I never really bother with video

I remember missing the boat with the K-7s on sale and thinking damn... at the time I didn't want to spend for the K-5 (I was new to the system and it had just come out)... In the end I was lucky to get a K-7 with light usage and the two WR kit lenses for about 430 ... which I though a hell of a deal at the time... I've missed a lot of the K-5 sales.. I've got my eye on some things

Whilst technically I could afford the K-3, its still a significant spend for me
