What do you store your gear in when not using?

Have been looking for something to store the lot in and padded (in my case 1 DSLR 6 lenses). Perhaps a flight box or something...

35mm f/2 is the same eye watering £819 as the DA*55mm f/1.4 YOWZERS!!!
That's bonkers

Microglobe have been selling it around 300 for awhile.. yes its "UK sourced" and all that entails.. still it might be useful to someone.. cracking lens

The other thing I think is important is that with the K-5 I've seen a couple of users who have had devastatingly good images from lenses many people would consider "too slow" in difficult situations

I know I'll be pretty darn happy when I get a newer body than the K-7 with lenses that some poeple might perceive too slow

I really think this 20-40mm has the potential to surprise.. its not going to appease the shallow DOF brigade.. they [Pentax] probably never intended it to

Another review...

The main negative in this one was the price

http://www.digitalcamerareview.com/default.asp?newsID=5454&news=pentax+ricoh+20-...

To me it still looks a beast.. I can imagine so many uses... sure f1.8 of the sigma would be nice... but if I had a newer pentax body the better ISO sensitivity/cleanness would help with the variable aperture
Better ISO performance doesn't help with the smaller aperture all when it comes to DOF.

The use of aperture to control DOF seems to be a dying art in photography these days.

The following isn't directed at Conqueror, but I'm increasingly seeing a trend towards an ever increasing quest for uber sharpness/resolution right across the frame and everything in focus from 1cm away to infinity.

No wonder an ever increasing percentage of images published are leaving me cold these days.

The reason stuff in real life looks beautiful to the human eye is because the human eye isn't perfect. The edge of it's frame is soft, in lower light the aperture opens up for a narrower DOF.

If the human eye ever came in K mount, it would get slated in pretentious magazine reviews as only being good for lomography and the sharpness obsessives would write it off for not being sharp away from centre.

Rant over
I agree with Pentaxophile

If its a dying art... it might be because every man and his dog tries to shoot at and with a lens below f2 or something... Which isn't going to be possible with the Pentax... which starts at 2.8

What I see is people wanting mega sharpness at F1.4 and shooting everything with a shallow DOF...

We may find 90% of the shots with that sigma on the web end up being @ 1.8
