Very nice, I like the bent up pettle in no.2 gives it character but I think personally I would have liked the whole front flower to be in focus.

There are lots of good gear tips there but one I would throw in is to take along a friend as an assistant if at all possible. No matter how well planned you are you will have less time than you think and having someone to hand things to, go get someones attention, move something out of the frame or just deflect distractions from you will help lots.

Oh and if they allow confetti, have a practice before hand, I found timing that quite hard.

Well I would say it is better for me but I do like images with strong colour. The markings on the Bee look much stronger.

I hadnt heard of it before, the collector in me quite fancied it as I do have a soft spot for books, but there is a list of other accesories further up the list

How about as an alternative the next competion overlaps by a few days or a week with the last. That way the judge can be judging on a sunday, and the rest still have a full weekend to do entries. The winner would then be setting/judging the competition after next (As the next one has already started)

Not sure how complicated you want to get but I have heard of (but not done myself) people getting high capacity cases like

and just using them as an extrenal drive bay. Sata does allow you moderate cable lengths. I think you still have to use one large powersupply though or a pair of powersupplies designed to be connected.

It would be quite loud though and generate plenty of heat.

Alternatively a Serial attached SCSI storage array would be nice, trouble is at work we have just been quoted £6500 for one

If you go the onboard raid array route you should check what it is compatible with as I believe some of them can be very picky if you have to replace the motherboard.

Personally I relegated my old PC to fileserver duties, that way the important stuff can be saved on 2 computers (And its in the shed so I cant hear it)
