At the time I was a Nikon user. I kind of looked down my nose at her barebones K1000 camera.
Later I tried Ricoh and then Pentax K-mount cameras. Today I use KM, KX and K2DMD models.

They share most internal parts and construction.
Any competent technician who services the ME Super should be able to repair your ME-F.

Fuji reversal film has been increasingly unavailable in the last few years.
Perhaps this is Fujifilm's clever - or cruel - way of solving this problem.

Use with caution with wide angle lenses as they may produce uneven skies.
Fortunately WYSIWYG, so adjust according to effect as seen in viewfinder.

They are a good alternative for folks who can't bear the thought of carrying a point & shoot.
My choice for a cheap take-anywhere SLR is a Pentax P3n or P30T, of which I have several.

I prefer the analog needle-and-scale exposure meter, which is more precise and easier to see in bright light.
The slightly larger size fits my hands better, and the shutter speed dial is definitely easier to use.
For me the only advantages of the MX are user-interchangeable focusing screens and winder/MD options.
