It's been quite a while since I've seen anyone manage to have such a comprehensive moan about something that's actually good, namely a decent range of new products.
Don't get me wrong, I'll be in the vanguard of those whining about disappointing AF, if such it turns out to be.
But in the meantime, what's not to like about the growing Pentax range?
Shame he didn't say "I was blown away by the speed and accuracy of the focusing", but that'll do for now

If you would expose for the face ....
The OP inquired as to the the red skin this would in my opinion fix it.
But as the OP said (of the lightened version):
Thanks John - I would say the normal colour is that which you have achieved under the chin - so still too red everywhere else.

You have the camera set to high saturation and matrix metering,I would use natural and spot-metering to the subject,if that was the object of the photo.
If the face is in shadow, using spot-metering will burn the sky out which may not be what's wanted.

The White Balance is on auto, ISO 800 and 1/320.
I'd be inclined to tone down the contrast and saturation, and use a neutral setting instead.

Connecting to the PC with a USB cable is much easier for me; when I've had a day out I download the contents of the card to the PC, copy to the network drive to ensure there is a backup, then re-format the card in camera.

I propose that we quote a suitably helpful snippet from the manual each day to pass the time until the actual camera reviews come out. I'll start...
"Insert the battery correctly. If the battery is inserted incorrectly, it may not be removed."
I just love that. Someone has imagined (or worse, witnessed, let's hope it's no one from the QC dept) some complete muppet jamming the battery in the wrong way round.
Anyone remember Frank Spencer doing the RAF aptitude test?
