Scheisse.
Look on the bright side - all the cars in England will no longer be pissing their fuel efficiency down the drain with those silly flags and you can do urban scenes without every building having a News of the World advertisement plastered all over it.
FWIW, my German colleague is bemoaning the fact he has at least another 2 weeks of that.

I have a colleague at work with an iPad, and she shows me her trip/holiday/nature photos on it when we meet for tea break. I have to say it has an excellent screen and I love the ease with which you can move round albums/sets with ease. It is the one thing that almost got me to buying one.

I do like fiddling with tech, but the walled garden that Apple gives doesn't sit well with me, so I have a pre-order in for a Huawei S7 and I'll see how that goes.

I've been looking into UK suppliers of Sun Sniper Steel - looks to be a possible solution for your problem. It appears to be a German brand and sells for nearly £50 - even so I've not yet got to the point of buying one, so can't put my name to it as a recc.

Might this be something?

Looks interesting. Also looks to be RO support at the moment. Nice to see if it develops.

Chris do you've more info on that?

I know they are using exFAT for their new SDXC cards to break the 4GB file limit but exFAT is from windows. Has that something to do with it?
You nailed it in one. There are Linux drivers (of sorts) - one is allegedly a Win driver that has been wrapped with a shim layer and can do reads, but writing has been problematic. The other is by Tuxera - and that arrives as a binary blob which costs an unspecified amount.

SDXC - the devils own work. A 'standard' agreed on by committee pushed by Microsoft that is patent encumbered. So unless you pay Microsoft lots of money, you can't create a compliant SDXC card reader driver.

Didn't see that one coming. /s

Mike,

Is it my eyes or monitor - but the Tern one seems to have a heavy halo round it as if LCE or mid tone contrast enhancement was used a wee bit too much?
The others I prefer - esp the Hover Fly.

I had a go, but the website appears to be completely borked. I tried feeding it to Google as Japanese, Chinese and finally Korean and I just kept getting "403 image" errors everywhere!
The entirety is done as images - even the text - prevents copy/pasta blogs nicking content. You'd have to OCR it before letting translation software have a go.

How did that happen?
They came like that - I rarely ever use manual focus on anything with a DOF measured in mm, so AF/MF differences aren't an issue. Even with my 50mm f1.4 the DOF is greater than the error between focussing screen and AF calc. Only long teles wide open come close, and the Opteka really pushes it.
