Only because iam not sure what I could use it on,has anyone use this type of lens and what on? and could you put some pics on so I can see them much appreciate.

Paper thin DOF.
Sometimes hit or miss focus.
Low contrast.
I use it much less now I have a Bigma.

Nice idea, I'd love to get my OM20 with interchangeable backs alive again but I think £200-£300 is very optimistic. An APS-C 8-9MP sensor is about £120 - the FF sensor easily costs a min of £500 a pop. Last time I looked the Canon 1D sensor costs more than $800. It isn't the pixels that cost, it's the silicon area and consequently much lower yield. So asking for a 5MP FF sensor is going to be about the same cost as a 12+MP sensor.Now... Technology has moved a long way forward since then. Perhaps now such a device could be made that had an FF sensor of say 5MP, a CF card slot and battery.
Wouldn't it be great to be able to use our Spotmatics, KXs and LXs Digitally? - 'Course it would!. In fact, I would happily pay two to three hundred quid, for such a device. I think it's time a manufacturer looked again at this idea.

I'd stick with the 55-300 as that is much sharper at 300 than the Siggy.
Secondly the magnification difference between 300 and 500 isn't something to write home about - it's a bit 'yeah so what'.

I have a friend in Japan who flies here regularly to see ballet in London and generally tries not to stay overnight. She's the only person I know who does weekend breaks on the other side of the planet .Agreed, the jump on a flight specifically for the purchase in Japan of a 645D is very unlikely to happen but I do know people who fly to Japan from the Gulf to buy their Canon cameras and lenses.

To say 'me too' I have a Epson Perfection 4490 that deals with MF negs with ease.I've got an Epson Perfection V500 PHOTO flatbed USB connected scanner which does everything I want of it - documents, photographs and negatives (comes with supplied frames to position the negs whilst scanning). Don't kid yourself that it's a swift process - far from it - but the results are good.
If you want to "try it out," you could post me a negative, I'll scan it and e-mail you the resultant digital pic.

If I may chime in, I tried this, but it depends amazingly on the quality of the PL filters as at maximum density, any colour cast of the filters becomes very amplified.
I spent about £70 on the PLs and still got a ruddy/brown cast. I changed it for two Tiffen Titanium 1.2 ND filters and get about the same density but zero cast.

Hi,
I had a Panasonic FZ-28 and it's live view/LCD display was good for taking pictures.
I now have a K-X and think the live view is rubbish and never ever use it. It's soooo slow.
Just wondering what other people think and do you use it?
