Eww, I hate these types of wasp. It's an Ichneumon (parasitic wasp). Looks like a female Ophion luteus. They lay their eggs in moth larvae and when you expect the moth to pupate one of these 'orrible things emerges instead

I use the Slik Pro Pod 600 with a Velbon QHD-51Q ball head on it. I use it all the time for medium telephoto and macro work.

I'm not qualified to offer criticism of the lovely shots with the kit lens. I'm a sucker for the cobweb, though.

I have the Sigma 70-300mm MAcro APO DG as well and I'd also recommend it for wildlife if you want the dual purpose of being able to take macro (-ish) shots as niblue explains.

You might also want to look at picking up a Pentax 80-320mm off ebay which can be had within your budget (though the price of the lens seems to be steadily rising). As that will give you the extra mm you need for capturing wildlife.

I'd be very careful of the "new cheapo" long range lenses from the USA/Hong Kong that you see on ebay, as you're likely to be unhappy with the quality.

With the 300mm+ zooms mentioned, you might also want to get a tripod (or at least a monopod) to use them on at the long end of 300mm as they can exaggerate any shaking with the trombone sticking out.

The cable allows you to auto-focus before shutter release. It is also lockable for Bulb explosure. IIRC, the IR remote doesn't allow for either, just shutter release.

I use the "Hama Remote Control Release CA-1" cable on my GX10.

You didn't say that at all in your last post. You said that you want "Pentax to look at this issue and to give us a reason why?". Why should they if you haven't confirmed with them that there is a significant issue at all, and everyone with the "problem" returned their camera to Pentax to repair/investigate?

To gauge whether there is an issue, a much better poll would be:

"Have you returned your camera to Pentax for repair due to leaning and received a repair that fixed the problem?"

Then we'd know if there was a production issue or not.

25% of people don't. The poll statistics are meaningless with so few people voting. All it shows you is that (at present) 6 people who visited this forum believed that they have a problem with their camera and of those a number came to this forum specifically to complain about it, which only goes to skew the numbers.

Surely, if you think you have a faulty camera you should return it for repair/investigation to Pentax - otherwise this is all just hot air as it doesn't appear all those who believe they have a faulty camera have returned it.

Only then can Pentax decide from the number of repairs they have to do (if they find a fault) whether there's any kind of production issue that needs investigating or not, compared to the number of units they have produced.
