You could put on of your DA* lenses on the K10D/K20D and take the photos directly in the water

I wish they would hurry up and fix the issue about not being able to edit posts - it's archaic and excessively restrictive. I see that the attitude of "we know best, even if we don't come here, and you'll have to like it or lump it" still applies.

I couldn't agree more about editing posts. As with almost all modern forums, you should have the freedom to edit and/or delete any of your posts at any time. It's not like such a feature is going to be abused in this type of community - there'd be no point.

Also, you should be able to delete any thread you start. Again, this is a standard feature of modern forums.

I've just got myself a Manfrotto 330B which is actually quite versatile, though without the flexibility of Peter's setup:

That said, it's a reasonable price and I'm just using Slave mode Wireless flash using the inbuilt flash as the trigger and an AF360.

I've yet to try it in the field, but the setup works well on my monopod with a relatively small ball head and the 180mm.

Love the spider, I think it's a great capture. Maybe would be a little better cropping to the right so that he's looking into a bit of space rather having his face centred.

Any 2x converter is likely to compromise picture quality. More so than, say a 1.5x one. These days, with DSLR's you're usually going to get better IQ by simply zooming into a non-TC image than actually using a TC in the first place.

A couple from today that I'm pleased with, though the light was a bit harsh. K20D and Sigma 500mm:
