If the sensor is a Sony creation then don`t be too surprised. Had a problem with a Handycam sensor and just before binning it I searched the net for any similar faults. Found that just about every range of camera had stuffed up sensors. Enquired and hey presto Sony doing a free out of warranty repair. Then again it might not be one of theirs.

Tried the W80 and yes the picture quality is no great shakes. Bit dissapointed but for a couple of hundred quid I didn`t expect too much. It will serve the purpose and when I am brave enough will take the K10 out on the water. thanks for your input, if you want high quality dont buy a W80.

My K20 seems to underexpose a little more than the K10. It`s not consistant though, which I don`t understand. Probably the operator though because Iv`e not used it enough to really, although the degree of underexposure increases as the amount of light decreases. I hardly have to dial in e/v changes on the K10.

Well I bit the bullet and bought a W80. Struck a deal with a camera shop in York. I`m not looking for the quality of a K10 or 20 `cos thats unrealistic but so far as I can see at the moment the results are ok. I will post a pic in a while.

Well it took me a couple of years before I was brave enough to take my K10 in the rain. Eventually I did but kept wiping it dry, I was using the Tamron 28-300 and the kit lens. Now I know the K20 has the same seals but same old story unable to go out in the wet with it yet. Now I always want a camera with me so when my wife and I bought Kayaks I couldn`t take enough brave pills to take either of the DSLR`s so I bought an Optio W80. This wee beastie wont suffer from a dunk and is part of the Pentax family. Will post some pix when I have some.

As a recent convert to the world of Kayaks I am wondering has anyone bought one of these yet and what do you think of the results? I can`t bring myself to take either my K10d or K20D on the water but would like a waterproof camera to take in my Kayak. Have taken a few pix with my ancient 3.2 mpixel Olympus C350 this being a rather sacrificial camera.

It is so difficult to understand that what is a real fun hobby can sometimes be so serious and intense. So sorry that a fellow participant feels the need to end communicating, the loss is for everyone to feel. The input from that person has ceased, how sad. Everyone loses, what a difficult time.

Now I know how the K10 D really can perform I would not sell it anyway so john`s comment doesn`t matter. It was set to zero before I adjusted it. Yes I do adjust it for each lens I put on but that only takes a few seconds.

Ok, time to spill the beans. Once I got my mitts on the K20 I was brave enough to go for the focus adjustment in the Debug menu in the K10. I cranked up to + 120 microns for the 50-200 zoom and + 100 for the standard lens. Must point out though that what ever you set the adjustment to it fixes it at that for all lenses. Therefore I alter for each lens, having said that though the 50-200 is soooooo sweet on the K10 D now I hardley swap it over.

I have a K10 and also a K20, the K20 is like a refined Belgian chocolate and the K10 like something from Birmingham. However since I attacked the debug mode in the K10 I have hardly put it down. It`s that sort of daddy or chips scene. As John says the 10 and 20 work well together because of their similarities.
