W80, your child deserves better! I bought one on a whim, very poor image quality, an awful lot of noise and the colouration was not good. That was after it was repaired for having all of those faults to begin with.

Pentax agreed and gave a full refund after I had had it for 6 months. I have no knowledge first hand about other Pentax compact waterproofs but I was told by the Johnsons techie that the earlier versions to the W80 were a lot better and that they never had them for repair except when they had been dropped. Go try a few cameras out and don1t get stuck on a particular brand. You will be hard pressed to find better image quality and value for money with Pentax DSLR`s and Pentax lenses. I have a K10 and a K20 which are wicked and robust.

Mowog, just take care now! Dont let anything clang together now. Especially when you struggle uphill out of the saddle. Thinking about your Pentax around the neck. He He

Hi Graham, well done. My wife had wanted to kayak since a young girl. We bought a couple of kayaks last September (birthday treats). Have paddled miles and miles since then and the relax factor is amazing. We joined our local canoe club and they are a great bunch. Using a local pool for training and the river Deben for a good evenings paddle. I confess to using a Panasonic compact waterproof but felt brave on Sunday. I love being on the same level with nature. I hope yoy really enjoy your paddling.

Hi Techno, wife and I too had the kayaks on the water yesterday. Only paddled about 4 miles on the rive Stour. A tree had fallen accross the river about a quarter of a mile from Willy Lotts cottage. Made a good pic though. This was the first time out in a kayak with a K10 and tamron 28 - 300 (both sacrificial if the crunch comes).

What`s up? is this pointless thread running out? Just had the grandsons round for the evening with their big sister and mum and dad. Now it`s peace again. A pair of five year olds after a day at work, I love them like crazy but am too tired to do them justice.

Wow Tony, what a gem. The Spit that Mrs Grace has would be a tad faster, use a touch more fuel and the engine growls like crazy. DC3 has just flown over again.

Well it`s nearly the end of another fine July weekend! I would like to say a big thankyou to the local supermarket for a fine selection of ice cream. Mrs Cedrics fish have reproduced and we have scores of the little creatures doing their best not to be eaten by mum and dad and three other adults. I can almost here the words "can we have a bigger pond." Likewise I can feel torn back muscles already. Mrs Grace went off to work early in the Spit this morning and last night a DC3 trolled across me airspace. makes a change from the punters stacking up for Stanstead.

Interesting names here, Linn, Quad, Rega, Thorens, SME and loads more to boot. Oh i forgot to mention Pentax. It struck me that us Pentax owners suffer quality very well indeed. Of course this is my very humble opinion.

Whoo hoo! never thought I would find another Thorens owner. Had a TD160 with SME since 1980. Wonderful bit of kit, not used it for a couple of years but I feel an urge now!
