Word of caution, high powered laptops run on the hotter side of warm. I thought I`d stuffed my new one whilst extolling the virtues of Photoshop.

Extra cooling is a wild idea and works. I bought from that famous south American river site a Belkin laptop cooler with a USB powered fan. No more spectacular shutdowns and a much cooler lap.

Don, it worked ok till WD40 came along. The guy that used it thought it would enable the plugs to insert easier. Wrong!!!

Many years ago a helpful person sorted out the telephone exchange with WD40 on a ship I knew. Never did work after that. Contact cleaning on my bodies and lenses is done in the Womble fashion for me too, tee, polo or whatever.

WD40 - sure it drives off water just as the name implies. But as it dries out it leaves a nice layer of grease. Not too good on rubber either can cause it to swell.

Same here, I was about to trash a Tamron 28 - 300 lens because of poor results on the K10. After assaulting the settings via the Debug Mode and adjusting to +150 the Tamron is fine. Curious though my other lenses don`t suffer with that setting. I now leave the K10 set to + 150 for them all.

Welcome, K10D is a very nice piece of kit. Quite a few folk use them to great effect. Look forward to seeing some of your pics.

Shows the value of a camera at your side.

Cedric (also a cyclist) got sent flying by a dopey car driver 18 months ago. He forgot his trailer was wider than the car.
