I have a K3 which is a great piece of kit. However even after a lot of information gleaning and changing of settings the AF has improved but tracking is still not great. I think it`s worth trading in a K30 which in comparison is very pedestrian and just doesn`t have the same IQ.

Pack up all preconceived thoughts and ideas about teleconverters into a parcel, wrap well and send via white van delivery man (that way you are guaranteed of ridding yourself of them). Once you have done this buy yourself a Pentax 1.4 AW rear converter and nail it to your Pentax DSLR. Be prepared because whatever 3rd party device you had before, the Pentax one will not dissapoint.

Well mine is great on a K3 and DA300* need a bit of practice with it especialy for moving subjects but that`s a combination of my inabilities and the AF on the K3 not being up to much.

Been sunning it in the Outer Hebrides for a couple weeks. Such a superb place and the folk are so friendly you just want to stay. Photoed me a Corncrake which I`m afraid isn`t pointless. Nor is the fact that our 2 gallons of home grown red grape is now wine.

Fred, thanks v much for that link. Just applied it to my K3 and the impact was astounding. Reset the K30 as well and the difference again quite a change.

I can`t answer your question but I can agree with your findings for continuous AF on a K3. It really doesn`t work terribly well.

Hi folk, any chance Daron of a link to the AF set up data please. My K3 has gone kerazy and the AF is about as predictable as buying the winning lottery numbers and guess who`s off on hols..............

Many thanks for all of your comments. It was basically what I was thinking. Not a huge difference but probably more comptaible with the Pentax lenses. Not sure that it would communicate any better than the Tamron.
