Think from a marketing point of view if you were constantly releasing upgrades to K3 etc it would detract from the product.
People would be more likely to wait until next year when the new K3iis is replaced so prices fall.
Personally Pentax having a FF offering shows me taht I ahve chosen a manufacturer that is commited to supplying a full range of kit for all photographers, so I feel it will be of greta benefit to them overall.

Any Q10 owners out there who can offer opinion on if Q10 is a reliable quality investment for a handy travel camera?

Brilliant Jonathan
I moved a lot quicker to the K3 having only got my first DSLR a K50 6 weeks before I upgraded.
I was prompted by daily visits from a colleague who is a Nikon bore who was constantly expecting disappointment from the K50 and was trying to sell me his old Nikon kit!
I too am glad to be in the Pentax brigade as the cameras feel so much better as well as nice to use.

Hi thanks for all the advice.
I had to change the setting to open shutter when not set to A as camera doesn't work on this setting.
Images seem ok not been outside yet as miserable here today.

Yes it is the SMC A 35-70, I noticed there is a setting for aperture ring enable/disable. I will play around with that and make sure the A is firmly clicked on.

Never used a manual focus lens before so may take a bit of getting used to.

It fitted but all images were totally black.
Would I have to change the setting for having an aperture ring?

Actually looking at a Samsung NX3000, Saturn has an offer on just now camera with a 15-50mm lens and a free Samsung Galaxy Lite pad thrown in for 279 Euros...
Did look at the Q-10 but reviews arenīt really good, donīt want to spend much more than 300 Euro if anything at all.

Thanks for all the replies.
I am travelling to South America to Uruguay for 3 weeks in the early spring, so it will be quite dusty at times and with the possibility of heavy showers at any time.
I think I will go for the two (or three) lens route and cut down on other items in my handluggage!!
Have bought a SMC Pentax-A 1:3,5-4,5 / 35-70mm from ebay for 50 Euro so will try that one out.
Maybe the answer is to take 2 cameras, one with the 18-135 and the other with the Sigma 10-20 and take along the 100mm macro & the 50mm F1.8 so most eventualities are covered.

Never had these problems when I was a bridge & compact camera man!!!!
