Well for £49 you cannot expect top quality prints like you get from a top photo lab print but for me they are quite acceptable, it has CMYK photo cartridges and an extra black for normal text type printing and you can get the XL cartridges which hold a bit more ink for not much more than the standard ones. I also like the fact you have two internal paper trays and the ability to print CD/DVDs as well, although unlike the R800 it does not print on paper rolls. I normally use Canon paper and some prints have been on our conservatory wall now for a couple of years (in glass fronted frames) with no obvious fading.

I used to have an Epson R800 which was a great printer but it had to go as it blocked up so often it became a huge pita! I now have a Canon Pixma iP7250 which is as good at printing photos as the Epson was IMHO and so far has not had any issues with blocked nozzles. I think mine coast around £50 a while ago and it is wireless as well as USB. Currently £49 at Argos.

I had not thought of the first solution, however from where I live any hot pack will have cooled down by the time I get there so the second is my only solution.

Great photos.... I visited this annual event 2-or 3 years ago and found I had to allow my camera to acclimatise for quite a while as it was very hot and humid in there so initially every thing steamed up. How did you manage and how long was it before things stopped steaming up?

Could not agree more, I have files duplicated in 3 places and SD cards are always cleared after the relevant event once backed up in the 3 places.

Yes that's why I was a little confused because I have the Sigma 150-500 lens and yes I am able to choose either OS system when using that lens, obviously only one or the other. It does indeed have the advantage of seeing a stabilised image in the viewfinder as well when using Sigma OS.

I did ask Park Cameras about this as they dont mention it on their website but their reply was less than useful.

I am a little confused about the descriptions of this lens on different web sites. Some say that the OS (Optical Stabilisation) is not available with the Sony or Pentax mounts, others do not mention this and all they say is that the lens has a new OS system.

So my question is who is correct? Does anyone know for sure who is right for a Pentax fit lens?

Hugin is what I use, I have found it excellent. It is available for Windows Mac and Linux and its home page is at http://hugin.sourceforge.net/

I must admit that as a quite long time Linux user I avoid any *buntu distro like the plague. I just don't like the way it dumbs down everything to the very lowest level. I also avoid Gnome desktop like the plague, personal view but sorry I hate it.

I would try any other distro which has a 'live' version which can be booted from a usb stick or dvd. I would also use KDE as the desktop unless using any older hardware ( stuff which cannot run XP or Windows 7 well) as it is the most like windows, otherwise XFCE or LXDE perhaps if you have really old hardware. The most likely issue with hardware compatibility is likely to be printers especially if you have an older one, and then take a look at Turboprint if you cannot find a good driver - its commercial software but not expensive and works well (no I'm not associated in any way) I use it because it works! I have converted my wife from Windows 7 to Linux with KDE and honestly she has no real idea its not Windows (apart from the fact I told her but she hadn't noticed before), it looks identical. Once used to Linux (and it is easy and no you dont have to use the command line for anything these days unless you want to) if you really need windows because of some special hardware then run Virtualbox to run Windows as a virtual machine under Linux!
