I recently bought a Sigma 10-20. Am delighted with it despite some reservations at the time. My preference from online research was to get the Sigma 12-24 buts its a bit too expensive. I tried the 10-20 in the shop and it seemed reasonable. Since getting it home and using on my own camera(I did have to adjust the focus position substantially- the K20D is great for that), I've decided it is quite good. No regrets. Interestingly I use the full range from 10 to 20mm.
I also tried the Pentax 12-24. Read mixed reviews on it and it was retailing much more expensive than the Sigma 10-20 so wasn't really an option. Test shots with the Pentax showed why some reviews pan this lens. It had serious CA and purple fringing.
cheers to all

Tigers are so photogenic. I'd crop close if the photo quality allows.

Hi Mannesty
Hate to correct you. Just fired some bracket shots. Set of 3: o, +2, -2.
Adjustment while holding bracket button and dial 3 or 5 bracket choice with rear wheel and 0.5, 1,1.5 or 2 brackets using front dial. This was on my K20D set in custom menu for 0.5 EV spacings (alt is 0.3). Thats probably clear as mud! See P 129 in the manual.

Hi RobE17
Check aurora gallery at www.spaceweather.com
You will see lots of fabulous aurora photos and exif data. I was in Iceland last year in early October. Cloudy and raining most of the time. Fast lenses are good. I did see a spectacular aurora all the same.
Have a great time.

I have just purchased one of these,(haven't recieved it yet) I plan to use it with my Bigma and 180mm macro and would like know if its compatible with my pentax SDM lenses.
Even if I only have manual focus that will be ok, but i don't want to damage anything either.
Has anyone used one of these TCs with thier Pentax lenses and what is the pic quality like. : Thanks
I have one of these. Works well with Bigma, and should be great with your sigma 180.

One flash and a silver reflector will do very well. I have a couple of Lastolite backgrounds that come in handy for this sort of thing. 25 portraits might take the best part of a day including travelling and setting up so I would charge my daily rate, calculated as follows D=(y/365)where y is the amount of money you would like to earn in a year.
D=y/220 to allow for weekends, vacations, long service leave etc etc is a more common contractors formula in this country. Given you supply equipment etc, perhaps the formula should use a number much lower than 220!

I use Av mode with Auto ISO.
However, I have programmed the front wheel to be ISO - rotating the finger wheel will fix the ISO, and pressing the green will set it back to Auto.
In that mode the viewfinder shows Av, Tv, and ISO

Takes a little getting used to (reading three values at once) but it works for me!
Matt
Thanks for pointing that out Matt. Should be very handy.
