Very nice HDR. Top photo a little too bluish or lose the blue highlights on the frame.

Live view on the K20D is a waste of time. Lots of other reasons to get one but live view isn't a valid reason. Enjoy the the bright view finder!

For the K20D, but I assume the same for your K100D?
:
I have been playing around with my 32 yo Pentax SMC 30mm F2.8 and 55mm F1.8 lenses. As per the manual, if you shoot in most modes including Aperture Priority as you did with this photo, the lens defaults to wide open. Therefore the above photo was taken at F1.7 so very narrow DOF and exposure can be hit or miss although great in this instance. You need to shoot in M mode. Press the green button (or equiv) which adjusts to correct shutter speed for the available aperture, and press the shutter.
Had to learn this the hard way, then read the manual!
cheers

Find an istDS or DL. Great camera, much smaller and lighter than the latest (Have both a K20D and a DS which I don't plan on selling. The DS is the go when travelling very light).

I copied some photos back from my laptop to the SD card. Once I remembered to put them into the appropiates subfolder, No problems. Could view photos and data on the K20D.

Exifs for your bird photos say 1/50 and 1/100 sec. You would do better at 1/300 to 1/1000.
Continuous focus for birds in flight and auto focus.
good luck

Thanks for the comment Mike. The second photo has minimal processing. The first was taken near dusk and has contrast, exposure upped. Also some extra saturation to show vegetation and beach sand colour. Clouds are courtesy of nature.
Cheers
