Has anybody used this lens on a pentax? Does anyone know how it fairs against the DA 15mm ltd? Any help received would be gratefully received

The K5 is a great camera there's no denying. My point is though, is it great enough to ensure the longevity of Pentax? Would Pentax have to bring out a model offering even more in order to broaden it's appeal? If it doesn't do that it may find the future is not rosy. In saying that how hard must it be to entice Canon/Nikon users to jump ship. That's where the real growth will come from. I agree with Redbus. The K5 may be better than so many of it's rivals but if they don't match the advertising campaigns how will people know. Look at how successful the campaign was for the Canon 350 a few years ago. To a lesser extent Nikon are using Robbie Williams to promote their compacts. But what do Pentax do?

I don't know what the future holds but surely if Pentax are to survive they need to up their game. Replacing the K5 with an even better camera may be a start. I'm not saying they should try and compete with Canixon in the same way that those brands compete with each other but they should try and compete. Perhaps if more pro's took up with Pentax it may have a trickle down effect on the masses. With that said Sony haven't really conquered the market the way they might have planned. Sony though, in everything they do never seem to give the consumer value for money. Maybe Pentax should take a chance and bring out a DSLR that has features that makes people sit up and talk about at a price where they will beat a path to Jessops (if they survive) or any retailer. With what's happening at Olympus (another great company from the past) it may be a good time to act. Better adverising might be a place to start.
