Thanks for the crit, they are all a little bit 'thoughtless snaps' I was basically running a colour film to check the camera was all ok. They are straight scans and I agree a bit of PP would help them a bit (straightening and cleaning the negs would be a good start).

When I said I welcome crit, I am more looking towards the photographs than spelling!

But thanks for the correction anyway

Ran another film through the Spotmatic F, the meter seems a little erratic now and again, most notable with the SMC open aperture lenses at f16 and 22.

Anyway these came out pretty well IMHO, Comment and crit is always welcome I've a lot to learn with this film lark (like how to hold a camera straight)!!

The wolves again but a slight different angle, probably 50mm f1.4 at a guess

Fountain with a fast shutter, colour came out well IMHO.

All taken on my Spot F with Kodak ultramax 400, probably 50mm f1.4 and the jag 35mm f3.5.

I bought a Canon 20D and have done exactly what you mentioned above. sat on a corner at goodwood and 'machine gunned' the cars as the came round panning as many shots in as I could. In a way this is nice and easy and you don;t have to think, but I did manage about 800 shots in the day and got maybe a 10% return of stuff worth PPing from them and I ended up with 69 pics from the day. Digital is a nice way to learn without paying for processing and being able to instantly reviw and see what went right/wrong, but I've gone and bought a spotmatic to try a have a bit of fun and make myself think a little more about my pictures. I do know people that stick their DSLRs on auto and rattle pics off at a hell of a rate, I don't want to snap like that.

I need a new pentaprism for my spotmatic ESII, I assume any spotmatic prism will be interchangeable. So does anyone have one spare? I'm happy to buy a full camera (but must be cheap, but cosmetically rough as you like) as long as it all looks good through the viewfinder, this one had a rough horizontal dark line about 1/5th or the way up the viewfinder from the mirrored backing of the pentaprism beginning to lift away.

Thanks

Thanks for the kind words.

Yes dev and scan by my local Jessops (£6 and done in about 25mins, can't really argue). If you ramp the saturation up on some of the scans you do get a mildly green grass and purple sky

the 50mm 1.4 is a lovely lens, its the first M42 I bought for my Canon 20D as I wanted a better fast prime than the canon 50mm 1.8 'nifty fifty' (which is horribly plasticy).

hefty1: What do you mean by 'high-key' effect in #3?
