I am really really devastated at the mo because I had a prob with the DPI (c my other post) so I tpok it round a a friend who said she could check the settings for me.

Because she not used a digital canera before an works professally with film, she accidently formatted all my photos.

Sorry for spelling mistakes as I cant c proper thro crying. I have bin told they cant b recovered which is a huge blow to me.

I should have never let her hold it, this is one of a string of setbacks to happen to me this week. Can anyone advise wot I should do pleaze?

A lot of shots I'll ave to redo, except a Christmas tree festival which is over.

Do you still have the files that you uploaded to picture monkey on your computer or a disk? If so you will still be able to get them printed
Got some on a hard drive, but some of these I put on a memory stick. Will be able to get them printed, but I will still also be stuck with the same problem.

Back to ppi, try changing the figures in the Image Size dialog box and see how it affects the various dimensions.
How do I get to that in Picassa please?

Have you tried the software that came with the camera?
When it uploads it goes straight into Picture Motion browser which came with my camera. I then transfer it to Picassa.

Are you saving it at the largest resolution?
I don’t touch it, but I know its bigger then 72DPI!

I might be wrong but I think you need to find another printing shop.
It’s in Catherine Street in Salisbury, anyone heard of it? Called Fugi shop.

Or do you resize first? If you resize, that might be the problem
I used to in Picnic when it was working, but I leave well alone now.

You want to give your printers the original size images, which should be 4928 pixels on the longest side assuming you haven't cropped them.

Does that mean I should stop using picture monkey, and try Google Picasa only? :

I would like to print some of my photo's and display them, but when I went into my local printing shop I was told that my camera wasn't on it's higest setting and that the DPI was on 72, and not 240 or 300. This has upset me because I can't print my photo's at the size I want and they have to be smaller.

How do I sort this please?

After taking photo's, I upload them to a website called Picture monkey, and then sharpen them on Picassa. This might be what is messing my photo's up. If so then how to I clean my photo's up with out the DPI being affected? This is really frustrating!

I took my camera too my local camera shop where they checked it and said it was set at it's higest setting, I have a Pentax K30, by the way.

Would mind seeing the newly revamped Mary Rose exhibition.
You should, it's a bit low light in there but they have a skeletal dog and jurkins what the men wore. They have also reconstructed what the captain and some of the crew may have looked like.

It worked after I pushed it in a couple of times, but I will ring them up and see what they say. Thanks jeallen01 that's very kind of you, but I think Royal mail woud probably dispose of it.

They destroyed a heart monitor once my friend so vitally needed, before the hospital sent her one in person.
