and I'll take onboard your comments on KA lenses Myles.

I would like to use some of the older Pentax lenses on my K20D namely Primes 50mm----300mm.
do I use K mount only and I gather it's to be manual focused
do I need to set f stops and what about metering

I've seen some reasonable ones on e'bay and I'm itching.

Thanks in anticipation

Got a 24inch IMAC 2.4intel duo core with 4gb memory, can't say if it is slow or not but aperture runs fine for me.
also have a 13 inch macbook with same 4gb memory not slow either.
I also have lightroom on both.

you do need to boost the memory on a mac when you are running these programmes.

If you are switching to a Mac try for the highest os /memory and an external HD

hope this helps.

I,m in the front of the line already .

what a brilliant thought as ken said a job in japan made for you.

I hope Pentax can show the way forward, maybe even better than the M9.

Hi to all,

Just a quick question.

How do you have your camera set-up on your walkabouts?
I know there are different variations to different cameras, but as a general rule the principles should be the same.

on my K20 I would be focusing with the af button, meter with the ael button and take the shot with the shutter button . I find this approach disciplines and makes me more aware of the surrounding values.
metering mode and shot count will relate to conditions at set times.
I shoot landscapes/portraits and accept a faster set-up for sports will be required.

Would be interesting to hear what other members do!
