Got one on order from Clifton £96 ind P&P + a free filter. They have a special on pentax fit. Thanks for the advice.

Good spot, Les & thanks for tip-off. Have just ordered one too. Seems a lot of lens for the money at £120, let alone under £90 with a free filter!

I just plug the USB cable into my PC, turn on the camera (which then says 'PC' on the top LCD), and open up the Windows Explorer. The camera appears as an additional drive, and you can click and drag, copy/cut and paste from there. I know card readers are faster, but this method works for me

Lemmy, that's a great shot of City of Lincoln! Shame there's no way to get the sound of those engines on there too!

But what is really weird is that when they release a camera they can hit it right on the button. K200D is a perfect example, classed as so called entry level, but how many people went to a camera shop to look at a D60 or 400D and then held a K200D and didnt need anyone to tell them the difference, it was to be seen, and felt, right there in the hand.
I did! But I was already more attracted to Pentax anyway, just to be different from DSLR owners in my family (D40, D60 and EOS 400). They didn't have a K200 in stock, but both the chaps I spoke to had K10's, which they let me have a look at - they were full of praise for Pentax. To me the K-m felt more solid than the D60, and much better quality than the A200. Once I tracked down a K200 to actually hold (in PC World of all places, not what I expected) for me it was a no-brainer Managed to get one of the last from Park.

If you were told it in a camera shop, it MUST have been right.

You're quite right, George! How could my research have shown anything else?

Well the K-m is the replacement fro the K200D. But the K-m will still be around for a bit.
The K-m doesn't even come close to the features available on the K200D, Pentax may call it a replacement but I certainly wouldn't!
Don't think the K-m is weatherproof either. When I was looking for my K200, the chap at LCE told me it had been discontinued and the K-m was the replacement. Luckily at that time I was still able to get hold of one.

Ditto Still experimenting and finding things out every day. Would recommend the 'Magic Lantern' Guide as well, which I am finding really useful.

I had a problem with the lens shipped from Park Cameras with my K200 recently (Mk 1 18-55 and not Mk 2 pictured). When I called they initially gave me a small refund, but when after reflection I called back and asked them to exchange at no extra cost, they agreed, and only charged me the amount they had refunded. I would probably use again, although have to admit that the only reason I didn't use SRS was that they had sold all their K200s!

Am I going to regret buying a K200 vs a K20?
K20D (with lens) costs £579 from SRS Microsystems. Can you get a K200D for very much less than that?
Think the problem now is finding a K200 new, if that's what you want. Not sure what s/h values are like, but imagine that as they are rare as hens teeth now if you want new, they're probably holding up ok.

I too got a K200, mostly because it felt right in my hands (which aren't that big) but also because at £360 with the kit lens it was around £200 cheaper than the K20 (which was out of my budget!). I have only recently begun using it properly, but have managed to take some pictures that I am really happy with. I was wandering around at St Pancras yesterday and spotted a great shot of a bronze sculpture with the fantastic glass roof behind - but my camera was 150 miles away . Wandered some more and came back past it..saw a chap taking a photo and noticed he was using a Pentax. Went over to say that I thought it was a great shot, and saw that he too had a K200, so complimented him on his choice of camera too
