Which Jupiter would that be? They don't seem common in the UK and I don't fancy importing one and getting the inevitable ransom demand from Parcelfarce.
Any of the 135mm f/3.5's or f/4 I think they are 11A and 37A. I've got both and compared them to the CZ and they were sharper and from f/4 both identical.

I posted some test shots (taken in the rain) in this thread.

Some nice shots on Flickriver

The sharpness and bokeh on these is impressive (Pentax K10D)

I paid about £25 each for mine and ones the Moscow Olympics Special Edition.

I think a lot go to the US. I don't think they had them as retail lenses originally. They are probably spent up after Black Friday

The Russian Jupiters are sharper and cheaper
but don't have the CZ name.

Gwyn! That's an interesting product, thanks for the heads up!
Alleen de foto is wel in spiegel beeld

I mean that only the photo is mirrored
Not a problem to anyone used to 6x6 Hasselblads etc. Poundland sell a similar looking mirror for laydies It should be possible to cut a hole in the back or lid opposite the mirror.

Digital sensors record it as f/1.7- f/2.0 anyway, they can't handle f/1.4. (See previous posts for proof).

How do you mean?
It was covered in this thread "Newer sensors worse results? (open letter)" link

A quick test is to use Av set aperture to f/1.4 fire off a shot of a grey or white card. Close down half-stop and repeat. Do same until f/4

Look at shots in a thumbnail type view program. Do screen capture. Save as bitmap, tiff or jpg for closer inspection.

All shots should be the same mid-grey f/1.4 will be a lot darker than the rest. Canon and Nikon increase the ISO so that you don't know about it.

A set of special CZ lenses with only a small amount of glass (same size as aperture in use)showing for taking photo's in secret was sold on ebay earlier this year for just over £300. Maybe these should be more widely available. They are part way down on this page. The camera also had a semi-silvered mirror instead of the normal noisy one.

The laws a lot different in France I think you need permission there.

Wasn't there a court case over that kissing photo at the end of WW2 where the woman (at least) in the photo claimed some of the photographers royalties?
This was the case, but it was thrown out possibly because the
tog said he paid the models and lost the receipt.

Ian, you need to use apertures generally between f/4 (f/5.6 better) and f/11 to get sharp pictures from basically any lens. A lot start to go poor for technical reasons from f/16.

The effect on the water is quite amazing! The sky is a lot better, it seems to have picked up clouds that weren't on the un-filtered shot. I think you will be using the 10x quite a bit from now on
