I was going to suggest you contact Pentax Support, but then thought
maybe Gwyn and SmutjeUK have read something I haven't

It does list the K-7 and K-x though which also work with the earlier
remote so I would be very surprised if the "FIRE" button doesn't
work with the K20D, the other two buttons probably won't do anything.

Just a cheap one off ebay works just as well.

If you really want to know.... ring SRS

The guy who's flickr photos I linked to earlier (now left Pentax for Leica) has put some interesting bokeh shots on the other forum link
well worth a look.

Ah! Yes Algi, but the Zeiss Jena focuses to less than 3ft, is multi-coated... And has an Auto/Manual switch!
It also has a slide out lens hood. The screw on/reverse lens hood of the Jupiters can be a bit awkward, but makes a good protector

They are pretty much the same lens, big chunk of glass in the middle link

The 11A focuses to 1M the 37A to 1.2M, but often used as macros with extension tubes. Some are MC.

They don't need an A/M switch they have quite a clever one ring preset so if you set it at f/8 the ring which isn't click stopped goes between wide open and f/8 so you can still stop partway between the two. Normally you would set it to f/4.5 or f/5.6 and just focus at that. Still as much light as most zooms.

The big advantage is the 12 blade iris which is almost a circle and gives good bokeh.

Quite a bit of very unscientific babbling and some pics here

Try and get the 44/2 preset lens Matt, it's easier to use on a DSLR.

You should find one attached to the Zenit 11 or early EM. All 12XP models have the 44/4 lens.
I would, but my K-m doesn't like M42 lenses at all. When you fit one to it (with genuine Pentax adapter) the results are always horribly underexposed,

I'm now using the Spotmatic and SV to play with weird and wonderful screw mount glass.
Can't you use a manual meter Matt?

The Zenith lenses are cheap even without a camera. They do vary though so you might have to buy several.

The Chinon will be a Tominon rebadge and they usually add a purple cast, but are quite sharp. It's a pity it's not the 55mm Chinon f/1.4 which has fabulous bokeh and commands a very good price. The 55mm f/1.7 is very similar and is a bit of a bargain at present.

Blue and White only really tests the blue RGB channel and is usually more flattering to the lenses than the red channel. But your test compares like for like and is about what I would expect.

Chinons never did very well in AP resolution tests and a lot of Chinon users bought Pentax 50mm f/1.7 lenses which performed better on film. A lot of lenses now seem to perform better on digital than they ever did on film.

I did some digital tests on a Ricoh (Tominon)50mm f/1.7 a few months ago and it was equal to the Pentax 50mm f/1.7 'A' but had a purple cast.

The 'A' series f/1.4 should be better then the 'M' series, but the f/1.7's are probably better. It would be interesting to see how the Chinon stacks up against a Pentax 50mm f/1.7.

At f/1.4 you need to take at least 4 shots and choose which one is the sharpest.

Nice shot. Looking at the white lights where there is some detail the WB looks OK. I wouldn't have said it was Art Deco though?

A laptop keyboard is usually just a rubber membrane and ribbon cable. It should dry out if you can remove it.

You can usually buy a new keyboard on ebay rather than mess about too much.

The HDD should be safe and there are plenty of external USB enclosures made for laptop drives. You can also get an adapter to full size IDE cable so that it could be put in a desktop computer as the 2nd drive. If you can get the manufacturer and model no. of the HDD you can look up exactly what it is IDE or SATA

I didn't think the inside of a church would look so good in digital. It used to be a case of accept what you get on colour negative.. nice shots.
