Even though I haven't got a K-x it's nice to see someone
try this.

@noddy do you mean This M42 135mm review ?
I've seen that one before. It's a bit hard to follow and if he hasn't repeated each shot several times and picked the best, not much use.

The designs were of course snapped up by the Soviets immediately post-WW2, leading to a lot of cloned lenses.
They snapped up a lot more than the designs..... they moved the whole factory along with the German technicians to Russia after first assembling everything and getting full production going in East Germany first. Some of that gear (made in East Germany) is of extremely high quality and goes for good prices. This is a fascinating read.

The CZ period 1945-195x would make a very good film.

Pentax need to have a serious look at their websites.
It's supposed to work with the W80 as well, but it's
not on the list.

That's good news. You would think that considering the keyboard is rubber it would be made waterproof. I seem to remember Panasonic made one called a Toughbook which was protected from all sorts of things.

Any scratches on the front element will show up as quite severe flare on photos when you point them at a light source. It might even be unusable. Leica used to suggest filling them with matt black paint as a partial remedy.

It was CZ pre-war and during the war then they split up into East and West until after the wall came down when they again merged with the West German CZ becoming the owner of the Jena company again. All the records and archives of the East German CZ were brought together under the one company.

The East German Company made lenses and binoculars for the West German Company even after the war.

The only lenses they don't have in their archives are the one's imported seperately from Japan by the UK branch.

Official Book available.
