Looks a nice shot Simon, but without exposure info, we can't see why you've used it/needed it Is it f/1.4 at 1/100th sec.

Good point !!Looks a nice shot Simon, but without exposure info, we can't see why you've used it/needed it Is it f/1.4 at 1/100th sec.
The shot was taken around 2.30pm last friday, a bit of an experiment to see if the 10stop would make something a little more appealing from "normal" daytime lighting.
settings were 20s, F16

It looks good to me, 2.30pm looks more like the golden hour! It hasn't really added any dynamic effects from the motion of clouds and waves, but it seems to have done something interesting to the light. Don't suppose you took a regular shot to compare?
Not exactly the same but taken 5 minutes before...the ND seems to have created a more graduated effect to the sky aswell as obviously flattening out the waterIt looks good to me, 2.30pm looks more like the golden hour! The effect on the water is quite amazing! The sky is a lot better, it seems to have picked up clouds that weren't on the un-filtered shot. I think you will be using the 10x quite a bit from now on

The first one is so much better. I do love this spot: very photogenic. Isn't the sea calm?
Best wishes,
Andrew

It certainly was, a near perfect day as winter goes in North Wales - this was taken on the same day I shot the Caernarfon Castle reflections, how things change in a week !!Isn't the sea calm?
