Thanks Chris, I've already got the CD, just never used it.
I think there's a new version of the Argyll/dispcal stuff out
I might try that first. The previous version didn't work on
XPPro couldn't see the driver. The picture on my monitor is
really good, but the two white squares are merged into one.

I saw that on youtube.... don't know why he's put a foot long piece
of wood on the bottom someone else on youtube has done a
similar one and just put a small disc weight on it.

Did you use Argyll with Huey or just the Huey software?

I've just installed Samsung's MagicTune and can just see the two
white squares, but trying it with another greyscale that had more
steps I'm still burning out some whites. I had to turn the brightness
down to about 7% to get it right.... far too dark.

I might try Huey and Argyll again tomorrow.

Only 4 messages in the spam box. One of which was spam and two
that I never received from ebay about closure of a group I was
subscribed to. One off Pentax Forums, not sure why that went
in with the spam? I get stuff almost everyday off them.

So 1 proper spam mail in 2 1/2 years

5000+ messages in the inbox though that I've already downloaded they
should be automatically deleted. I'll have to check back on that.

I've got an old one from the 70's that came in a Pentax box.
The lettering was a bit different, but the the manufacture is
identical and made to very tight tolerances. The copies are not
to the same tolerances.

If it came off ebay there's a good chance that it's a fake
It should be in a green plastic pouch with a Pentax leaflet and
have a sticker that says 30120 Mount Adapter K

I don't know where I've put mine to get the lettering off the adapter.
If you look through Classified there should be photos of ones already
sold.

If it has K/M on it it's a fake. It should have Pentax Japan on it.

Sounds like you need to take your K-5 back to the Dealer.
If there was a problem with the camera then lenses wouldn't fit either.
So that's why they keep falling off and going Thump!!!

Thanks John, I've never used the online email so I'll have to try
and find which of about three logons that they gave me to use
I've not noticed any emails that haven't come through.
