That's very good male Mallard's usually don't photograph too good due to the type of feathers they have. Females photograph a lot better.

The 55-300mm is an excellent lens and quite small and light. From what I've seen of it the 120-400mm is huge by comparison.

It looks a bit tatty, but the optics are clean. Both the M and A versions of this lens are held in very high regard within Pentax circles.

Best Regards,

Top lens and good price, I've got the A* version as well as the DA*

It's a young male, females don't have yellow beaks.

They are very friendly if you put down some sultanas, currants,
raisins etc. One actually came into my house looking for some

When I was starting off and I bought my first new Spotmatic in the early 70's I said to myself I'll buy a SH Leica as well when the prices drop a bit lower. The M4 new at the time with an 50mm f/2 Summicron was £300. They never did drop and I never got round to buying one

The K20D was available with Cash Back for around £450 after that it was usually around £570. It might have dropped to around £530 at the end and SH ones were going for about £450.... so don't always assume that prices will come down.

If you keep a record of the number of page views on a daily basis it is usually fairly consistent so a 10 day auction will have 3/7ths or 43% more views and therefore bidders than a 7 day auction. Someone who doesn't want to wait 10 days for an item doesn't really want that item anyway and you could include a BIN for anyone who wants it straight away.

A picture of the lens (or flash etc) actually on a Pentax DSLR could help reassure bidders who may be unsure whether it will work on their Pentax... I also include the names of popular Pentax DSLRs in the listing in the hope of attracting newbies who search for 'lens for Pentax KR' etc!
There's nothing worse than seeing items included in photos that aren't part of the sale, plus its probably against ASA regulations. I remember MFI getting their knuckles rapped over showing other products in their kitchen layouts which weren't part of the sale.

Generally it's the crooks and idiots who put up that type of listing and I avoid them like the plague

There's on on today for :
"PENTAX SPY LENS ATTACH 2 200 F4 ANGLED MIRROR VERY RARE"

Shows a 200mm lens on one of the photos, but it's only after you carefully read the fine print that you realize the lens is not included so a lot of buyers are completely put off and won't visit the listing or any by that seller again.

Nice shots from a very under-estimated lens. It has superb bokeh
wide open and is also very sharp.
