With the exception of the first one (not in the same league) I love these shots. Great colours and close-ups and also like the square framing which works well. My favourites are 3 and particularly the abstract feel of 5 which would work well as a piece of wall-art.

Great results using some vintage equipment.

Great shots there Pete...i'd be very pleased if they were mine. Just for info shots 1,3,5,8 and 9 haven't come out on my screen...just the red word "image" where the picture should be. I clicked on the first "image" but the link just returned an error message.

NIce one.

Have to say I was watching the BBC news this morning over breakfast for about 15-20 minutes before one of the presenters mentioned in passing that it was St George's Day. If it had been March 1st or March 17th
they'd have been wearing Daffs or Shamrocks and had a whole news item about it.

Just saying...

Usual pattern of events...specs leaked a couple of days before 'official' announcement said to be on thursday.

Saw it first at photorumors again. Basically all the guesses seem right...GPS, remote control, new pixel shift technology, astrotracer, improvement to continuous AF... no mention of price yet.

Just another brief point. The current resale value on the Tamron is so low that it isn't worth selling it from my point of view..i'll happily keep it until something fails on it...however if I was buying now given that the 55-300WR is available at a reasonable price, that is what I would buy new as the lens is at least as good as the Tamron (!) but has WR which is important to me.

Very briefly (as i've just spent 10 minutes on a longer post only to lose it when 'Previewing Comment' and I can't face having to type it all in again!)...

Tamron 70-300LD at about £100+...excellent lens overall when you consider the price...love mine...BUT it hunts like mad at the longer end when taking fast moving targets like go karts and planes. I gave up trying to use AF and used manual focusing instead which is a doddle at or close to infinity although I should imagine a lot more trying at tens of meters distance with the subject running towards you carrying a ball!

Macro is not bad too if you don't expect too much...more flowers and still life than insect close-ups. Hope this helps. Oh and i've only used mine on a K-x (12MP) so can't comment on what it is like on a K30/50 or K5.

Some awesome shots Gary covering a wide spectrum of artists. I like the panorama near the end...gives a great feel to the event although I couldn't believe the show was taking place right underneath those Overhead Power Lines.

Keep the images coming, hope to see more of your work when the FF is released in a few months!

Super shots...Red Grouse for me.

Some nice shots there Naim from a city that doesn't feature on here very much.

That's quite impressive. I never realised you could 'stack' converters like that. As you say for those occasions when something is better than nothing its not bad at all.
