I respect that descision. There are millions of unwanted animals accross this country, that are getting a death sentece for the crime of being unwanted. Good dogs get destroyed or simply die of injuries, starvation or other causes associated with neglect or abandonment. No reasonable person can justify keeping a vicious dog, especially where it may interact with other people in society... A work colleague bought me a cuddly marmot who was "lost at sea" two days before this photo was taken in Wensleydale .
Some time later she noticed that at coffee and lunch-times I could be found looking at this forum so it was a bit of a personal joke to use marmot's picture as an avatar.

I spend a fair amount of time up there and it's an interesting bit of engineering. It was removed from one of the dams when an upgraded turbine was installed - AFAIK Elan Village is still powered entirely from hydroelectricity with no connection to the national grid.

I took my old Discovery around most of the vaguely sensible routes near here, the Forester will be doing anything without deep water or ruts/big holes. I still get up the valley on a regular basis when the weather co-operates.

This is Hipperty. A well loved member of my family left behind by my daughter who now is somewhat preoccupied with my first grandson. (Hipperty thinks its much safer left behind here!).
Hipperty is a dedicated grower of carrots and first appeared in this forum as a subject in weekly competition 107, "Dream" here. He has made several other appearances.
