Worth a post for sure, but videos like that just bring out the worst in me. That would have cost them at least a five figure sum to produce, and all it needed as a narrator was someone who had had a five minute briefing on how to read.
It's the sort of attention to detail that one hopes is present in the engineering and QA departments, because it's woefully absent in marketing.
Bring back Kai, all is forgiven.
Shoot the messenger!! I'd like to hang draw and quarter him. That was exceedingly painful to listen to. Not just because of the humourous pronunciations, but also the hurried, almost no pause for breath delivery. Truly dreadful. jules wrote:

I hope the "sterotype" photographer in the video wasn't how they see the average Pentax snapper either.

Apols if it's old news to many, but I've been out of it all for quite a while.
But given that the K-3 hopefully won't be any worse than the K-5IIs, I'm a little more optimistic.

I've been grumbling about the SD card door for long enough, I wonder if that's been put right!

I have no problem with the SD card door on the K5, which I think was much improved over the K10.

It's perfectly easy to use, but that's the problem - anything you catch it on, like a snug-fitting bag, is likely to open the card door.I didn't like the SD Card door at first on the K-5 but soon got used to it
The K10D design was a lot more secure. They kept it for the battery, why not for the card? It's a bit cheaper to manufacture, I expect, without the key, but much inferior IMO.
I use an Eye-Fi card most of the time, so I don't have to open the card door very often. But if I was forever opening it and closing it, I bet it would wear and become looser over time.
Does that correspond with others' experience?

The problem I have with the K-5 card door is that there's no room to get the fingers in to remove the card.
Ironically, the tiny Q has a similar design but it has extra space that solves the problem completely.
No doubt whilst the K-5 body design was being used it would have been too expensive to redesign just that one tiny component, especially if not everyone sees it as a problem.

I find my Eye-Fi card is a pretty tight fit, but if I release the catch by pushing the card in, if I then 'ping' my fingernail off the edge of the card, the spring then fires the card out far enough to let me get hold of it. I do have fairly small fingers, though.

It depends how you work. With two slots and usb 3 will there be any need to open the card door?
I have two card wallets, marked unused and used. Card from unused goes in and at the end of the day comes out, is backed up to the laptop via a card reader and then put into used. card two is installed for the next day, and so on all through let's say a week's holiday.
When I return home the cards are copied onto my PC using a card reader and then each card formatted ready for use again.
For me, connecting the camera to the PC never happens, so yes, I need to use the card door.
Best regards, John

I rarely use the card door. I find that continually taking SD cards in and out shortens the life of the cards significantly and can lead to bits of plastic breaking off them and getting wedged in the card slot. Connecting to the PC with a USB cable is much easier for me; when I've had a day out I download the contents of the card to the PC, copy to the network drive to ensure there is a backup, then re-format the card in camera.
