The Pound did peak against the Yen @ 247 in July 2007 . Last year the highest that it reached was 212 again in July. Looking back over the past 5 years, 2007 appears to have been an exception, 205-215 seems a more standard range.I think most of it is currency related. Not that it helps us, and ,historically, when prices go up they usually stay up! Especially if stock has been bought at the higher prices.
Last week the Pound hit 162, but has fallen back to around 158 today. So yes we are down some 36& on the July 2007 peak , but more realistically down 25% on average values.

Chris said a few months ago when he told us about the Pentax price rises that Sigma had already had theirs and that he didnt think there would be any more.

Sigma did went up the beginning of this year Pentax also slightly but not much.
Let's hope they wouldn't level the price with the UK, we are on the good side now for once.
The K-7 is also cheaper here from the prices that are known.
Maybe if England except the euro that your prices will be the same as the rest of the EU

Well Stefan, It is not often that you get items cheaper over the channel
I remember a while ago, you lot over there were moaning about the high prices you were being charged and we were much cheaper, as for the Euro?
I rather think the politicians will vote to keep the UK£.
How do you think the men in the “City” who speculate on currency could make a living (Killing), now if every one in the world had a common currency they would be out of business.

Very true but I wasn't one of them although when the Pound became weaker against the Euro I did bought a lens at SRS, lucky me Well Stefan, It is not often that you get items cheaper over the channel

And one coin for the world... I don't trust the Americans and China too much, they would have too much power and you see how it is now with the dollar. China is at the moment a bomb to explode, over a couple of years they might be in trouble if they don't change.
