A Tripotty if you will. Or perhaps a Portapod.

I think you're onto a winner here Don, Dragon's Den beckons!

I should say though that we shouldn't let this thread get too silly. We all know what happens when threads get silly...

99.9% of people get to have fun.

The remaining 0.1% have to find another forum for a week.
If you can't say something nice about Pentax, you won't say anything at all.

Apparently.

I asked and got confirmation that "it" will allso be available for the K10D/K20D eventually. It is something that has to be custom made to suit every DSLR they are going to put it out for.
If it would have something that would not be available for the K10D/K20D it could have been something for movie recording but that option is out of window for now.

(that is a lot of somethings and would have's in one post... )

Strange, its now an issue in the Macro Photography Blog. Apparently it will be announced on Monday what it is.
May I be right in a new Bellows that will keep the full functions of a DSLR?
Also I can not see a reason why that would work only with the K-5/K-7 to begin with, or am I missing here something?
Kind regards

It's nice to be nice!

I'm still leaning towards a new third party focusing screen.

And the plot thickens: http://pentaxdslrs.blogspot.com/2011/02/what-happens-when-three-entrepreneurs.ht...

And it's not a focusing screen. A machine shop is not needed for that.

My guess is some type of camera support.

They're not anodised or powder-coated either!

I'm with you on camera support.

Well if it's in-house Anodised/powder coated and CNC machined for a specific model of camera then I guess it's alloy and fits directly to the body - base plate probably. It's a mount of some type, either to mount the camera on something or to mount something on the camera! Maybe it's a decent side strap mounting? I've wanted one of these for some time ...

A motorised mount for 3D, panoramas, or long exposure star shots?

Am I correct in thinking the K7 and K5 have the same footprint?

These are camera specific, Alloy, CNC'd and powder coated - but they've already done it ...

OK, reading between the lines of this quote:
"......I think our item will be of particular interest for travel photographers, wildlife photographers, landscape photographers but can be useful for all kind of photography. Actually, studio photographers may not have much of a need for it....."
I now tend to lean towards a tight fitting waterproof housing (silicon maybe) with special flash mount and screen protection.
Macro may be a possibility but I really can not see much use for the above named photographers. FULL Waterproofing but still being able to handle the camera as a DSLR would be something new.
You got bags or diving gear but something that maintains the cameras handling but fully waterproof it would be of use to the above.
It would also fit with the statement:
"......Actually, studio photographers may not have much of a need for it....." and even more so ".....Some will like it and some won't....."
It would fit right in to that plus if you have an external flash hot shoe that would be then camera specific as you need the contacts. K-5 and K-7 share the same body as far as I know and it would have to be specific to every make as the hot shoe connection is different for every make.
Just a thought, as we are all just guessing.
Kind regards
