My camera is big enough without adding a hunk of metal to it as well. Nice try but no cigar. I'd rather have the DA 35 2.4 for that sort of money.

I don't use a grip so a) it doesn't fit properly, b) it would be a pain for changing batteries and c) if I then add my QR plate my camera still doesn't stand flat.
Sorry Yvon, but I shall be giving it a miss.

Quite! In fact a beanbag's better as you don't have to faff about with adjustable legs - just squish into place!a good old beanbag will suffice for me
I'm not going to spend $150 just so I can set my camera down on a table and not have it tip forward. Lol. But I wish Yvon well. I'm sure there are enough people out there who will buy one...

If you're placing your camera on an uneven surface a gorillapod or beanbag will give you much better support (and more importantly, adjustability). And if I put my camera down the lens hood protects the lens. That's one of the reasons it's there!
This not only solves a problem which doesn't exist but actually creates a new one: how do you reach the function button (you need to be able to hold it with your middle finger whilst your index finger is on the shutter)?
Might I recommend saving yourself about £90! link. Stick it on your lens tripod mount and it does eveything you need.
Feel free to send me the £90!
