I'd like to see how they're going to add that on to a K5 or a K7

Doesn't say anything about it being an "add on!".....

Perhaps you just rip out the old sensor, and shove the new one in with blu-tac or something. I'm off to get my K-7 ready for it's new sensor now!

there are like 17 pins and electrical contacts in the grip.... anybody know for sure what each pin does?
2 for power? (likely).
3 for shutter?(likely).
6 for buttons?(also possible only 3 used here).
6 for scroll wheels? (also possible only four used here).

Or do any pass data?
Possibly five pins available if so, usb only uses five contacts so a possible data connection between camera cpu and grip may already be built in? USB charging? live card slot? Bluetooth and or wi-fi connectivity possible?
Fired many shots. Didn't kill anything.

Bear in mind that there could easily be some sort of multiplexing on the grip contacts. I'm just thinking about computer keyboards where a comparatively tiny number of pins can pass details about an awful lot of key presses.

Well, forewarned is forearmed.
I'm with John on this.

Why a substanceless piece of drivel is getting everyone moist is beyond me.

Does this source have a history of reliability or something?

Yvon must be reliable. He's a Canadian.

Well this viral advert has us all soooooooo excited. I remember the last time there was a load of buzz about a revolutionary product and it turned out to be a thing called the segway. most notable things about that: chimpanzee riding on a segway, I learned what the word segway meant, and I learned never drive one round my estate with cliffs nearby and they are not road legal.

I do hope this isn't the damp squib I think it will be.
Lurking is shirking.!

If I was a betting man my money would be on something rather more mundane than the all singing and dancing grip, perhaps a new "revolutionary" third party focusing screen for the K-7 / K-5 ? Although what "revolutionary" might mean is anyone's guess.

We will just have to wait and see...

Cheers,

More hints, clever marketing....link
@mph555l
would all the interest and speculation (aside from being a fun distraction) indicate that perhaps many are feeling something is amiss in thier digital hobby?
