However - at the end - a user-voted gallery always contains those pictures, the users want to see
I don't know if it's true, but I used to think there was a final 'clearing house' where pictures which lacked that little bit extra were rejected. I would like the final judging panel brought back, and if Pentax are watching, yes I am available and my daily rates are reasonable!

From Facebook:

Are you a member of the PENTAX Photo Gallery? What do you think of the new voting system? We hope that it's made this process a lot easier. The more you vote, the quicker your images will be assigned a status.

Maybe this means your place in the queue is affected by how much you vote on other pics. Would be OK if the loading time wasn't STILL SO DAMNED SLOW for those of use with slower connections.
You could be on to something there. I did a massive voting session yesterday and this morning I've had my latest batch of acceptances and my first declined photo.

Could be a co-incidence but I only uploaded them on the 13th so it's only taken 8 days for them to go through the system. Very odd.

Just checked my submissions and found that they didn't make it, despite being well received here!

Loaded 4 more and am now waiting.

Oh, and I've just done a marathon voting session, most of the images were to say the least poor, just holiday snap type images. I'll be interested to see if any I don't like make it onto the gallery.
Cheers, HG

I submitted five a week ago. They have all just got accepted.
In the meantime I've been doing a lot of voting, perhaps there is a link between getting accepted and how much work you do with the voting finger.

Well, after doing a lot of voting my latest 4 have been judged.

The better 3 were rejected while the weakest (in my opinion) was accepted!

The logic of people's choices bemuses me!

Hi - I just started again to upload new pictures to the Pentax Photogallery and all are still pending (some since 3.5 weeks). Any experience how long it takes until pictures are accepted or denied (it seems to take even longer now compared to the "old" PPG)?
Thanks and BW
Axel
My experience is a week to 2 weeks. I can't compare it with the old PPG as I didn't upload any images to it.

There seems to be some glitches in the gallery when viewing photos which is frustrating.

I've just been back on the ppg, after not bothering with it for a year and was quite impressed with the changes. I had debated pulling my images from the site because it was so slow and unwieldy, I will now have to pull my finger out and upload some more images.

I can beat that, 1 accepted and 2 refused, in 2 days!!

I'm totally confused now.

It's speeding up. Uploaded five day before yesterday, approved today - they can't require many votes.

A few days I submitted my weekly quota of five and four were accepted. Maybe word's getting round that if everyone spends a bit more time voting the list will wizz through.

Here my final observations :
Review time is now really fast - last bunch of five was ranked within less than a week
There is a correlation between own voting activities and getting votes on own puctures (not necessarily always pro votes, but it is speeding up a lot)
I am also a bit shocked about many entries - I more and more see these pictures that have snapshot quality - I was recently in a venice series, where I thought - every single picture is a standard tourist photo in a quality that does not even require a fine equipment. If PPG continues like this, it will soon be a second Flickr or fotocommunity
and yes - the number of pictures in the premier collection seems to stagnate... wonder if this ever gets re-activated.......
