Marat, I'm glad you have stuck around, there's certainly things of interest on this forum. If you can wait until next week I'll be posting a few series of my latest images from two gorgeous gardens in my area, one set will showcase the qualities of the 18-55 al wr kit lens. I hope you will check them out and contribute to the feedback, people always indicate that the constructive criticism received is very helpful generally.

I can't agree that there's nothing, 'at all' happening here, I have found plenty of interest lately. It do agree with you that having the Pentax uk community split is not helpful, just for practicalities it is difficult checking different sites. I hope soon more of us can come together here again here on PU.

Hi, Yep still here and still keep logging on daily awaiting for something to happen or news as promised by the PU team, been using the classifieds this last few days as well which is nice.

But things are happening on the other side of the fence a lot faster and more interesting then on here at the moment, it is worth checking out, so I do think time is one thing the PU team haven't got as a new site I have visited this week has implemented all the suggestions that were made on here right away, so why the delay here? Or am I missing something?

As for you're 18-55mm WR thread, yes will be interested in that, as I have only just bought one for what I think is a cheap price of $50 so interested in what this bargain can do.

Don't take this statement as I am trying to put this site down, as yes I am still here and don't see any point as yet to moving but everybody else seems to be moving with the times and having a lot of fun while doing it.

I need to get processing images fast, hopefully during this coming week I'll get shots up. I am delighted with the performance of this lens, and you certainly have got an amazing bargain there

So far I'm signed up for this forum the other two (one as a donor) and ePhotozine but 99% of my forum use is on here. I like the gallery and classified, although the glass I would like is beyond my budget. and am happy with the answers to my questions etc. I will log into the other forums and perhaps post something and generally see how they progress. As a one brand photographer I'm not really interest in how some one took such and such an image on another brand.

I must admit all this "nothing happening" stuff baffles me. If there are "leads to deals" there is something new, if there aren't there won't be. People put pics in the gallery and elsewhere and people comment. People have a technical problem they ask a question. They try out a new lens - they post about it, and so on. Always seems to be something of interest when I pop in every few days. For me it doesn't need to be like some hyper active twitter account with stuff flying about and loads of instant replies. Lets face it, Pentax itself isn't exactly a hive of constant activity. So there will be peaks and troughs. The leisurely pace suits me.

The problem we have Dave is that a huge number of talented photographers and forum contributors have moved to other sites as a result of the heavy-handed moderation. This leaves the site short of contributors, both from a photographic and forum persepective. The site is in danger of dying slowly, you only have to see the number of members who have joined Smeggy's Pentax Forum to get a feel for what's going on. I too have joined the other forums and feel that Smeggy's in particular is a real rival to this site. I stay on here because I feel a loyalty to it, but if it doesn't retain the members then I feel the days may be numbered.

Agree with what David says above also there were reassurances that voices were being heard and things may well change .... nothing has, nor in my opinion ever will.

The other sites react very quickly to suggestions form members they think are good ideas - I had a suggestion on one of the sites passed on to the main admin within a few hours and implemented within 48 hours.

This site will never change and will always be that camera club were the old fogeys stuck in a long, long bygone era hang out and don't move with the times.

Such a shame as there were a lot of good and long time members who have made other places their main site for things Pentax.

Sad to see but the site owners / admins have only themselves to blame for the significant exodus.

Hi, When I said "Nothing Happening" I didn't mean it literally, as now and again the odd topic pops up, but know where near like what it use to be.

As a visitor I was amazed at the community's knowledge and helpfulness, and everyday I visited there was something new and interesting, the classifieds were bursting at the seams with great stuff, members were laughing and joking with each other, there we're meet ups happening, it just seemed a great place to be.

I then had to go into hospital and when I came out I thought I would join as I would be house bound for a few weeks, but as soon as I did join it looked and felt like a bomb had gone off. That was three weeks ago and I can only see it getting worse everyday.

Now as you say there is even more choice out there and even a site that looks and feels like this forum before the bomb went off. Even with the same members of old that I respected so much. So apart from the classifieds, where are the reasons to stay? Where are these great ideas that the team promised?

As someone new, I hold no loyalties to this site like some, maybe if I had joined sooner then that would be a reason, but I do feel sad that I have missed out on the best this site had to offer in the past, I have a feeling that sooner rather then later the advertisers on this site will also see what has and is happening and then move else where, and then that will be the end.

Like many have told me before, I am new and maybe my view point doesn't count for much as others, but sometimes it's good to look at something with a fresh pair of eyes, loyalty is one thing, survival is something totally different.

I would image the savvy users of any forum use some form of ad blocking, all I see is SRS and some insurance company so there is nothing from me for the advertisers. Every now and then the forum used to be handy if you needed a new kitchen

Stan, I think pentax plus members see less adds. I see more if I browse without logging in.

I am logged in, with ad blocking software, and currently showing 8 different advertisers?

Same here, I have ads blocking software installed but I have only 4 ads shown at the moment.

Maybe I am not worth the bother by some advertisers.

Just logged in only two adverts showing 1: for SRS 2: for Glover Howe both listed under Official Partners. This is the same whether logged in or not.

In the meantime can you ask the admins to make it easier to upload images. There is a myriad of choices ref image size but it looks like you needd a photobucket account or somesuch so uploads are done twice. Such is progress.
