That looks a good spec, i wonder what the price will be? I quite fancy changing the K5 for that.

Shame about that meter, I'd heard they were going to use a dumbed down RGB.
Cheers Jules...

And a little about that cute collapsible zoom...
Plastic mount which is a shame (Dunno but I just don't trust a metal to plastic interface, I know I know...) but it's got some interesting glass in it...
Green ring but HD, now I'm confused...:

Now that says built in GPS
So ...
Built in GPS
Built in Wi-Fi
Swing out monitor
20MP sensor with no AA filter
put a top LCD on it, give it the AF points from the K-3, beef up the FPS, improve the tracking, put in twin card slots and make a grip for it ... you have a K-3II
I would buy one
Looks like they have dumped the Flucard idea ... hence why they are giving them away with the K-S1.

Hmm, no mention of a touch screen, I was hoping for a touch to refocus in live view. Guess I'll pass on this one.

But it also says 'O-GPS1'. One way of the other it'll have GPS functionality.

But it does mention Smartphone integration, so possibly Pentax will be relying on smartphones to provide some degree of touchscreen control over WiFi?

That's a nice spec. I wasn't expecting them to add the af hold function which I assume is from the K-3. Anyone know if the SAFOX X definition includes the F2.8 centre af point or is it that outside of the definition?
I reckon we're looking at £650-£699 launch price body only, £750-£800 including lens... but I'd love to be proved wrong if it's lower......

I think the spec looks good. The K-S1 to me made absolutely no sense at all. But this has all the essentials i would be interested in. I never use my top screen on the K5, so wouldn't miss that. I had Touchscreen on the Panasonic G3 and always forgot to use it, so not fussed about that either. 5.5fps is fine really.
Found my next camera i reckon, just depends on the price. £700 will be too much for me, so i'll be waiting sometime to upgrade.

I think we'll have to wait a bit, lots of FF junk to get out of the way first. Then I do have lenses to buy myself this year so I have a vested interest in the K3 update coming out as late as possible
Cheers Jules...

Regarding the price..it looks like its the K-50 upgrade rather than K-5 territory, so I would guess £499 body only..£549 with kit lens. Any less and it tramples all over the K-S1, any more and you might as well buy a K-3.
I'm a bit concerned with the current pricing strategy...theres not much blue water between the K-S1/K-S2
and between the K-S2/K-3...all very scrunched up. (Assuming K-S2 price guess is reasonable).

I spent a few minutes with the K-S2 today .
It feels great in the hand, the flippy screen is near on perfect, nice and clear, imho better than the K3's
Hopefully this will become standard on all future K releases, deffo the way forward.
The new compact lense is a step in the right direction, i really hated the old one, and it sorely needed updating
I hope this will be a big seller for Pentax, it certainly deserves to be.
And it seems to AF in video
