I have to say I rather like the look of that AF201FG flash, I can see me buying one of those for macro.
I don't do flash Mike but thats the first one I've seen that could make it's way into my bag, nice and compact, I'm very weightist!

Quite basic in the focusing department. Good job no one's interested in how good Pentax cameras are at focusing.

A positive preview and a handsome looking camera. Hats off to Ricoh/Pentax, they've come up with a winner, i think. Have to say i was little worried about the direction they were taking with the K-S1, very un-Pentax like with the cheesy lights. But the K-S2 looks a real return to form. And £549 rrp body only looks a good price, very competitive.

same, very happy and very likely to upgrade to this instead of the future K3.

I see Chris has it for pre order now SRS

Is it wrong of me to like the orange stripe version ?

Me too, something appealing about the graphite and orange.

Remember Mike...
"Superb performance that lets you capture moving moments exactly as you see them"
But not moments that are moving!
"Algorithms are used to increase AF speed even further"

Graphite and Orange does look pretty cool but I like the Khaki Green one too...

Like the KS-2 a whole bunch so far- (like the new lens too - plastic housing be damned) - but not ready to buy in hopes that the FF dslr will be out this year - in the meantime I'll hold my cash figuring the KS-2 price will come down when the FF is introduced in the fall. - am looking for a lightweight walk around- almost sold my pentax gear for sony A6000 - happy I waited . I'll probably get the lens and use my IIs as a walk around (stripping the battery grip off the IIs) -- It must be stated that Ricoh has gotten behind the brand in a large way, No brainer in figuring the FF will be the flagship. I'm already looking forward to the 2nd iteration and its not produced yet - fun time to be a Pentaxian - FUN - T
PS - maybe we'll see a few more Pentaxs' in our travels !

It does make one wonder if another update offering is on the way for the k-50?
K-50 had a burst rate of 6fps from memory, with a similar min shutter time etc. photo taking hardware specs haven't changed much.
And this includes the focussing abilities also.

Great to see the positive reviews on this one.

I haven't seen any mention of sr during video yet. Fingers crossed movie SR doesn't turn up anywhere!

Curious to hear peoples thoughts on the tiny thumb grip, well compared to previous pentax DSLRs. Is this a non issue in practise?

And are there audio level indicators during video? Would be useful with the external mic in option.

Doesn't seem to have a remote cable socket? I like to use my Yongnuo triggers on my K30s - being able use your smartphone instead is pretty useful though I suppose!

From Imaging Resource.com:
"OK, we've checked on this for you. Note that our sample used for the preview doesn't have final firmware, so it's certainly possible that this could change. However, we do see audio level indicators (both left and right channels) during video capture, so that's promising. However, it looks like the K-S2 does use Movie SR rather than the actual sensor-shift SR mechanism for video shooting."

Great review from these guys, as Pentaxophile mentioned on page 2.
