Took a few quick shots in my lunch break at various ISOs. Will post them up soon (unprocessed).
Phil, be quick! Can't wait to see! Did you order black or silver one?

I would rather wait until a K3 iiis is out when the price of K3 would have dropped significantly...

While we wait for our batteries to charge - those of us who don't have a spare - I can at least confirm the cards eject very easily. On my K5 about 10% of 'pings' failed and then it seemed quite tight to pull. Easier to put it back in and ping again. I'm using the same cards.

Also the focus switch has a much smoother action, maybe my K5 wasn't typical.

Finally it does seem noticeably heavier to me. One of the perils of trade in is that there is nothing left to compare.

Took these just now in the dark to try the high ISO. No sharpening or processing applied.

How fast and accurate is the AF?

Quick at locking focus, more so than the IIs. Haven't tracked any fast moving objects yet. Hope to have a proper bash with it at the weekend.
Shutter is quiet and refined. Nice grip and screen. Pleased so far.

All very nice, and all, but at 800px, I'm not sure what the images show.

Although the sensor stains would never have been detectable on any of the above images. Definitely not at 800px, and probably not at 100% either unless you were lucky and happened to spot them in one of the areas of uniform colour.

I have had a play with the K3's AF-S & AF-A modes and can confirm it is far better than the original K5 and the K5ll. Throwing pillows across the living room and rolling a ball across the floor are a long way from photographing action and sports, but the AF so far appears to be a big improvement. Next weekend I am photographing the RAC Rally so I will be able to provide a more detailed update and some example images.
