Just thought i'd report a surprising and welcome improvement with the K-3 - my Viltrox JY670 ring flash now operates properly. With the K-5 IIs it would only flash once, requiring a recycle of the Pilot button each time.

Just shot these in the garden during rather poor weather and light.

Yay - I don't have to fork out big bucks for a Sigma or Pentax flash.

Mm, my K-5 is worse than that.

But not as bad as this poor guy's K-3 though, over on the US forum...

I also did a quick compo with my K5IIs before I shipped it off to it's new owner and found the same thing, the level on the K3 is spot on and the K5 is a little out, peculiar, pleased I didn't sell it to Chris as I think he'd blow his top!

A welcome improvement but like Chris I cannot understand why it was not calibrated at the factory since it has no User imput to be able to do it yourself?

I have not yet taken a shot with the Camera and have just been playing around the house with my new toy, and I want the first and all subsequent shots taken with it to be of something. So I'll leave the cats, dogs and shots of the Camera to others as I'm sure there will be plenty without me adding to them.

So far my impression of the Camera is unprintable here as I would sound like a gushing Canikon Fanboy, suffice to say I have yet to find an area where I don't think the K3 is better than the IIs, image quality will come and I'm sure to chime in here as I am a little Anal about image quality to the point of being a real Camera bore

Welcome news, I don't use flash, not something I'm ever in a position to fork out on but it looks like pretty much any flash will do, which is great, those flash shots look lovely by the way Phil.
This is one of the advantages of an RGB meter, it would be nice if Pentax could get Near Nikons CLS here and it looks like they just might.
Ricoh are rapidly stripping away the reasons to go off brand and it's all good...

I was given strong hints yesterday when I picked up my K3, that the next big thing will indeed be a "Big" thing...

What I really want to see is that 120-380ish Zoom on the roadmap and if it's got some kind of weather sealing, that would pretty much seal the deal for me, consider me the first Ricohnian!

Can someone please buy me a k3?

As a wildlife shooter this looks to be what I've waited for, for a very long time.

A 10 shot burst of a black greyhound running towards you at midnight would be good.
