to be fair...
Richmond branch has helpful staff, and Kingston were determined to get a sale out of me (which they got in the end)...
Jessops does have its flaws but if it goes our little bit of Surrey becomes a photographic retail wasteland...

Jessops with a ridiculous pricing regime locally, plus department stores drove my local store - EFC out of business a few years back.

It's a good ad for them. 0%, 50%off + 75 years promise of experience. Whether or not that experience really means anything is very much open to question of course, the staff in the shops being young and largely uninformed.

It was there to demonstrate what Jessops were claiming.
That is totally ridiculous. It does NOT break any of the forum rules or terms and conditions of use.
I presume you will now stop people mentioning Canon, Nikon, Panasonic, or Sony in posts.
And while you are at it, why not remove suggestions that people buy Sigma lenses instead of Pentax.

Hence my initial stance of not including Kodak P&S shots in a classified ad...

I've gotta agree with polchraine, removing that advert because it's an "Advert for Fuji cameras" was pretty silly behaviour.

If it had been posted along the lines of "Look at this great deal on Fuji cameras" I could understand it. As it stands, utterly ridiculous.

You all know what the guidelines are, and the above is exactly why we say Pentax only.
The comment was about Jessops, and that's fine. As soon as the door opens, it gets pushed a little further.

We do not discuss moderation in the forum, and the reason for that is that any communications with individuals over their postings are by PM and confidential. This avoids embarrassment and enables matters, where necessary, to be dealt with out of the public glare.
What you think of as rather silly might look different if you had all the facts of any situation.

There's an independant (I think) photo shop in Teddington, doesn't stock new Pentax but it does have a wide range of second-hand gear.
As for the (now-snipped) advert, I'm surprised noone commented that they are admitting that after 75 years of experience all they can push is simple P&S units...
Still shooting in the dark (literally and metaphorically)...

The "75 years of know-how comes free" - well experience tells me that is exactly how much it is worth, absolutely NOTHING!
Or maybe the 75 years refers to the combined experience of their top 1000 staff!
