I thought it was perhaps a good idea to start a new thread on this so people who may have missed the earlier ones can join in if they wish.

There is a PU meet organised for 9th April 2011 at Pollock park, Glasgow,

We are meeting at the Burrell Collection car park at 10.30. Not sure how we will recognise each other - other than by the Pentaxes hung around our necks that is.

All who want to attend are most welcome to. Maybe if you add a comment to this thread we can build up an idea of numbers.

Also perhaps one of our Glaswegians can post some links to the place for anyone unfamiliar with it, or too idle to search for themselves .

I, for one, am really looking forward to meeting some PUers at last, and having a good day in Glasgow.

Let's hope the weather gods are kind to us.

Well, as we are meeting in the car park, one possible solution is for people just to head for my car. It's quite distinctive and generally sticks out like a sore thumb, even in a crowded car park. It's actually even brighter yellow than it looks like in the snapshot.

Apologies for the quality of the photograph, it was taken with a cheap mobile phone camera because I had just got the car and my mother wanted me to send her a picture message of it! I'd take one with my K-5, but the car's rather dirty right now.

It is now looking increasingly likely that I won't be able to attend, I have a shoot in Hertfordshire. Ironic since I live almost on the edge of Pollok Country Park.

Gwyn, I'll lock the other thread.

For those that don't know the Burrell Carpark - there are actually 2 with the 'main ' road running through the middle - I would suggest we all meet up in the lower car park . The top one is mainly Blue Badge parking [ and remember that in Scotland the 'blue badge' is for the person not necessarily his own vehicle ]

Car parking has a modest charge £1 with ticket from the meter but it lasts all day

I'll be there with my Freelander [ deep and sparkly blue ] and a very memorable registration - 162 BUS so I should be easy to spot .

Just don't ask me for directions - my navigational skills are NIL

That's a shame Ken, but work must come first. Of course you do know a certain Pentax supplier is in Hertfordshire don't you .

Good that you said about the two car parks TT. I'm sure we'll find it, and everyone!

No idea what car we'll be in, except it will have a Dutch registration.
The Prius is due to be replaced by the lease company and may or not be replaced in time for the trip.

Gwyn - I don't think it will be the only car with Dutch Plates

Long term forecast for 9th April is 10C, some sun but an 82% chance of rain - 6.2 mm in total, and winds of 25km/h.
So wrap up and make sure you are waterproof .

I'll keep watching it. Hopefully it will improve as we get nearer the date.

Sounds like a normal west coast weather forecast.

I know, but no harm in hoping for one of those exceptional, glorious days which the west coast occasionally throws up .

If the weather is anything like last week we should have some glorious weather.
