Thanks for the kind comment Phil. There is more detail on the printed version. Not doing much PP at the moment, but once eyes are sorted will look again.

I do like your last one there - great sky! I love that wide angle effect when the clouds seems to 'wrap around' the distance, and beautiful blues. Layout is good, plenty to take in and nice anchoring foreground. Yes, when you get a chance on the computer, give the shadows a little boost upwards and that should reveal some nice tones and textures.

.... That ends my 5 in a Row. I will hand over to Nigel now and look forward to viewing his images. Again thanks for taking the time to look and for the useful critique.
Thanks Stan, kind of you to pass the baton my way, and I'm looking forward to my little run with it Well done with your 5-in-a-row!

Love the clouds as others have said a bit of work on shadows might help. Maybe when your eyes are sorted

Hi Stan,
Been a member on here for quite a while and never really looked much further than the gallery. I now know I am missing out. Absolutely fabulous series, loved them all but No.1 is my favorite because of the textures, motion and depth. I think it works really well in mono

Thanks for the comments Malc. I enjoyed the challenge although previous posters had set the bar very high

hello Stan, a bit late to the party but here is my five pennyworth

1. initially found the bits on the horizon a bit distracting but that aside i like this shot, having a go with more mono myself, love the textures on boulders and beach also the lead from the boulders to the breaking wave. i would have gone to a tighter letterbox crop but that is strictly a personal thing

2. my favourite, great waterfall, well taken and as Nigel said very dramatic but i would crop nothing ,i think it would spoil the balance just clone some extra trees at the top and clone over the white bits in the bottom

3. a nice scene well spotted but too dark and yellow for me, not sure if you enlarged it then crop to just above the water would improve it to get more of the water and less of what is behind it.

4 a beautiful landscape beautifully shot, i wish i could do that. would have been my favourite if there was no waterfall but a sucker for the misty water.

5. looks a lovely place to live, as said previously sharp, great sky, excellent composition but, on a personal note again, not fond of UWA lens on this type of scene as i find it annoying the distance buildings being just specks on the horizon.

all in all Stan a really nice set and you can definitely hold your head high with them

Thank you for your comments Joe, I do appreciate them. I agree with what you have said and eventually will tweak the images some time in the future. I only came across the "challenge" after it had started and there had been some really top class images posted, so you could well be nominated in the future

I actually prefer the fourth one to the last Stan, to me it's a much more balanced and natural image. The last does need a little tilt to the right to level it out, but again all the ingredients are there and the sky in particular stands out.

Well done on posting a great series of varied shots.
