Cheers Alan, just a pre-sharpen and a bit of clarity to cut thru the glooom and maybe a little pop but not really touched the colour, I actually don't like it very much, probably because Skiddaw and Blencathra in the background are just misty blobs but I suppose it's atmospheric?
Cheers Jules...

Cheers Algi! Legs are still aching! It was a bit hairy in places, path on the edge of long drops (Not the other halfs favourite thing in the world)!
It was fairly orangey looking anyway from memory, it's probably all the moisture in the air that helped that as much as the time of day. I suppose I should not dislike my own Picture because of the conditions of the day, not every day can be perfect, in fact the less perfect, usually the more I like it! Joys of Pentax...

Its a great image Jules, no doubt - the composition and combination of elements all come together, and you had a brilliant sky.
But the colours? I do think it is not realistic enough to convince. At first glance it looks like Mars ... could you not reduce the red and magenta channels a bit, and a boost to blue & green might help. I just feel this would provide a better colour balance overall.

Well as I said Neil, I left the colour pretty much alone, it was the early morning and the atmospherics caused by the haze and mist thats spreading out the early morning glow, I can try to tone it down a bit but it's pretty much as I remember it really, Mars Eh?
Here's another go:
Red channel and the magenta were not blowing but I've backed em off and think it looks really dull now, and actually not like it was when I viewed it...

I prefer the original. The sunrise glow is what makes the photo a stunner.
I am deeply envious of you on so many levels - having such a wonderful place to walk, having the ability to walk it, and the ability to capture such a scene.

Thanks for trying it out Jules. It's a bigger reduction in those colours than I was really thinking, so perhaps there is a half way house? Dull? Not at all, to me it's beautiful, some real blue back in the sky, and lovely green on the ground. Much better! But, there is the possibility that something in between, with a bit more red and magenta, could provide the ideal balance.....

Hi Jules, as someone myself who tries to capture the moment I think you should stick with your instinct. It's a very magical moment when you experience special light AND manage to take it home with you in both head and memory card eh?
Retained exif and a 1000 wide image would be nicer on here for viewing generally.

Ta very much for those kind words Gwyn! Struggling with the ability to walk it and weather is most definitely impeding my ability to photograph it at the moment, two weeks of Meh or Sunshine neither of which is any good, I need a decent storm!

Had a few goes Neil and I seem to keep on ending up back to the original I posted, I'll have a proper go tomorrow, when I can spend some time on it Neil. I can see your point, so I'd like a go at another version but still try to keep the magic there...

Not intentionally stripping out the EXIF, it's not me so it must be lightroom?
I actually set it up as a 1000 across so I don't know why it's so small but I have been chastised in the past by the Tyldesley Tornado for posting too big!

Only took two shots all day as it happens the murk never really lifted all day and the weather was generally a bit Meh!
Anyway, here's the route we took, for those interested, form the bottom at Honister to the top of the map at braithwaite is just over ten miles...
This was taken at about seven in the morning, when it was still quite cold and there was a bit of colour left in the sky but after that it was just plain old murky Borrowdale and the camera never came out of the bag again!
