Well, we visited Selby today...

.....and I can confidently say we won't be going back.

Not in a hurry anyway.

I thought Bradford was bad, but Selby is worse.

It's clean, there's a good community feel, but the shops are..

...interesting(?)...

.....and being one of the youngest in a cafe didn't help!

I can't put my finger on what was wrong, I only know it wasn't the sort of place we're likely to go back to.

Beer open and poured...

Did you go in the Abbey HG? Now that is worth seeing. link

The rest of Selby is, as you disapointing. A relic of a once vibrant coal community.

By the way there is a camera Fair at Boston Spa Village Hall (near leeds)tommorow 10.00-1.00

We didn't have time for the Abbey, that would be the only reason to go back.

Unfortunately I can't do the camera fair, shortage of funds and all that...

....maybe next time...

Ah Selby! the only times I ever visited was way back in the late 70`s when I used to stay at the Selby Fork Hotel after a hard day repairing sugar beet harvesters in the frost and snow. I suppose anywhere warm and dry would have sufficed. My enduring memory is the sausages in a warming cabinet. I would never have thought it possible to wilt and wither sausages to the extent that they managed. I never saw anyone take them.

Trouble here in the far East! Dishwasher is on the blink and despite having loving care, attention and cleaning it`s not cleaning very well....Fitted a new kneading blade in the bread maker. That separated into two pieces and failed to make a loaf worth eating..... Run out of Whiskey so it`s beer tonight. looking forward to work tomorrow.

Is the dishwasher draining?

If not, then turn the power off(!) get all the water out with a sponge and remove the filter. Make sure nothing gets underneath as it will cause more problems.

You want to check right inside the pump to see if there is anything blocking it. Tiny splinters or bones can get caught.

It is the most common cause.

Also clean out the spray arms.
If all that doesn't help get a new one. It will cost a lot less in water and electricity than one that is more than about 5 years old. I'm glad my old machine stopped washing. The new one is great.

What a great GP today.

Tried all of those things thanks! Pumps out well and the outlet hose is nice and clean. Tried both spray arms for debris and all the holes are clear and the arms rotate well. It gets a degrease every month and as veggies it hardly gets any grease/oil through it..... maybe trying some different tablets (clutching at straws)might work.
