I was going to tell you a joke about herbs and fish.

But I don't think it's the Thyme or the Plaice.

It wouldn't have been so traumatic (not sure traumatic is quite the right word, but it'll do) if we'd found something interesting as that. The back of the cellar door was the only one that still had the panel moulding still in situe, probably because it wasn't worth covering the back of the door, but this was pasted over with several layers of crumbly yellow newspaper a scrap of which was for June 1956. I don't think much improved for the place since then.

Anyway I've left the doors fitting in their holes and for him to polyfil the holes and sand the doors down then paint with a colour of his choice.

That should at least make the place feel habitable. I just hope he finishes before Christmas (the next time we're due to travel north).

MOT at the diabetic clinic tomorrow, will be pleased to get that out the way and have a few of the chocs I was given 5 days ago. The waiting has been torture for a chocoholic

Very quiet here - is everyone drunk??

Barrie hasn't been around for a few days either. Is he on holiday or something?
I've been to Llandudno for a Tinsel Turkey and Lager weekend. So good guess Gwyn.

I still have on my driving licence the option of riding a motorcycle but having not been on a motor cycle for over 40 years would I need to take the afor mentioned test?

Or is it like an advanced driving test for bikers?

I might add that I have absolutely no plans to ride again, prefering the comfort of a hefty chunk of metal twixt me and the outside world, but I am curious.

I think if you have a licence from long ago then it's there forever.

It's why I need to get through Mod 2 before 19 January. If I pass before then I get restricted to 25kw (whatever that means) for two years, after which I get an unrestricted licence.

If I pass after 19 January then I'm stuck on a 125 forever, which basically means I have to do it all over again on a bigger bike!

Then I wish you all the luck in the world.

I took mine on a Honda 50 then upgraded to a BSA175 (an absolute pig of a bike - good in a straight line, but like riding 2 unicycles around bends) then moved on to a Reliant.

I did try out a Norton 500/600? but it scared the pants off me.

25kW - isn't that about 33HP (ie not a lot)
